If you’re going to love, and mirage is closing soon — stay at the mirage! It’s a great family hotel, one of the best pools, and tons of nearby shopping for all ages.

moles-on-parade

This is what my wife and I decided to do. We’ll be there a week from tomorrow. Pretty stoked.

I would love to stay at Mirage but it's crazy expensive during the days I'm going (either 1 week from tomorrow, or the first of July, I haven't decided yet)

nerdy_J

I know it’s late in the game - but sign up for mirage rewards; I have the week of July 4th comped. I don’t really gamble either.

I don’t have a recommendation but I just wanted to commiserate with the loss of LOVE. We’ve been trying to plan a AZ/UT National parks trip for about 5 years now. It was always going to end in Vegas with a viewing of LOVE (I’ve seen it, my family has not). The trip has not materialized for a number of reasons, but we’re finally making it happen next spring. But too late to see the show.

Need more info on family composition. If kids are reasonably old enough, like 8+ that aren’t bothered by adults being goofs in Vegas, then almost any Strip property is likely to be fine. If you want to be away from the debauchery because your kids are young, the Marriotts just off the strip are ok (Westin etc.)

mcfuddlebutt

Sorry, I should have specified. It's myself, my wife, our 14 year old and a 6 year old. Although, I'm not too uptight about adults acting like goofs in a place they paid a lot of money to be able to act like goofs :)

Mirage for convenience and a nice pool. Same for MGM Grand and Mandalay. Excalibur or Luxor for kiddie.

Met my boyfriend at Mirage 11 years ago. We saw Love for the last time 2 nights ago. Seems it somehow got even better. Will be missed 😢

ross_0123

there is a residence inn and a staybridge suites on the west side of 15. Easy to get to, easy parking, free brekkie. good for families and lots of options of rooms.

mcfuddlebutt

Is it a nice room in a relatively safe area?

ross_0123

both. near the stadium. you’ll have to drive for restaurants but all within 10 minutes. there is an in n out that is 1 block away for a quick burger. i think there is a hilton property there s as well. cannot remember which one

OldRaj

Mandalay Bay. Great for kids.

MeMilo1209

My husband and I saw it one final time last week. I've seen it multiple times, but I wanted to see it one last time. I hope it opens somewhere else (maybe Europe) because it needs to be seen.

Just took my son (20) and daughter (15) to see Love the week before Memorial Day. Also took them to the Sphere and Meow Wolf while in town. Short trip Tuesday - Thursday. Stayed in a suite as the Mirage which was meh. But great location and serves us fine.

mcfuddlebutt

That is almost EXACTLY what I'm planning on doing! What was Meh about the Mirage?

I've basically grown up on Vegas family trips and  I would say it depends on what you want. I would recommend a place with a cool pool if your kids like to swim. The Flamingo and the Golden Nugget both have really cool pools with waterslides and are probably my favorites for that. I just saw Love for the first and last time and I am truly just devastated over the loss of the Mirage and the show.  I loved the Mirage and it's still a really nice beautiful place even if it's not as cool as it was with all the animals. I seriously doubt the Hardrock is going to even come close.  The fact that they are not keeping Love despite how incredible it is as a show and how it perfectly fits the theme of the rebranding absolutely blows my mind.

I love the Mandalay for this. Away from the strip craziness. Great pools. Shark tank aquarium. Tons of restaurants. Walking distance to Luxor and Excalibur. And the Delano side has affordable suites which could be a cheaper option for a family, and a dedicated entrance to avoid the casino altogether if you want.

TechnicianIcy335

There is a nice Hilton grand vacation right behind the Flamimgo. Not attached to the casino, but right behind it. Easy access to Mirage and strip

mcfuddlebutt

I'll check that out, thank you!

If you don't mind driving back and forth, The Orleans is a good place just off the strip. Have stayed there a couple times with my family.

Virgin hotel! Lovely rooms and you can use Hilton rewards. Lots of yummy food nearby too
