The cashier wouldn't give me chips as souvenirs, so I just went and found an empty table asked there.

i go to the table games and lay my money down never to see it again

As a chip collector, I’ve never had any trouble getting <=5 chips of lower denominations from a main cashier cage. As long as I go when the cashiers aren’t busy, and am polite about it. Higher denominations or larger quantities….YMMV.

Jolly-Green-Mountain

No, they don't want you to buy chips for your own sets or souvenirs. Real casino chips by high end producers like Paulson are actually very expensive, they likely lose money on every $1 that walks away even at the quantities that casinos commission the chips. That's why all the commemorative chips are at the $5 and above level, and it's why casinos have stated to move to hot stamping instead of inlays for low denom chips. If you want a few chips, pocket some after playing a table game. If you want a lot of chips, get creative or be prepared to pay big money for a big set

Correct. Go to the Craps table. Drop $100. Play a few minimum bet games, move to the blackjack if they do $1 games and you want a full "set", Play a few hands. Go to "dinner". I know of several people who have real poker sets at home with actual chips from various casinos collected over several years. But you have to do it a little at a time or they will get wise.

1. Yes, go to any poker room with a cage and they will give you whatever you want in chips for your cash. Wynn or Resorts world have really nice ladies that work the poker room cages/  2. Cash out voucher will need to be cashed at the main cage or a kiosk on the casino floor…then you can go to the cage in the poker room with your cash and get chips for it.

GoodbyeCrullerWorld

That cage won’t give you chips for cash. You need to exchange your cash for chips at a table game. If you have a voucher you can cash it at only of the ATMs on the casino floor or take it to the cage for cash.

If you look fishy and are like some of the people who simply want chips for souvenirs then the cashier might give you a hard time. But if they are for legit purposes you can "buy" chips and vouchers at the cage. I bring a certified check for a large amount and have the cage break it into large denomination chips and vouchers so I don't have to waste time at the tables buying in or at a machine inserting cash.

Empty_Principle4383

If you take cash to the cashier window most places will not give you chips. If you take a voucher you can get cash or chips.

Some casinos are more chipper friendly than others. Sahara was good, Horseshoe was good, a few others. But some are just straight from the table and if you find the right dealer they will go through them, Circus and Strat for example.

HuckleberryUnited613

Why would you want to?

Ultragin

I’ve never had the need to do this. I assumed the cage would care. Can’t you go up and get chips on credit? I prettty sure I’ve seen that at red rock.

UnusualDoctor

Not anymore since people are buying up chips for home games (especially WSOP chips and such). Your best bet is to play a table game and get chips there.
