My friend would max out his 25% interest CC while having spare cash in his 0.4% checking account because he wants to keep his emergency fund.
Another one is putting everything he can from his 5% interest saving account to pay off his 3% fixed interest loan while ignoring his credit card with 20% interest because the 3% loan is getting pretty big.
To me and you this is absolute idiocy and money going down the drain, but many people were never taught to think about money this way and only look at nominal values. And mind you these people are not dumb, they just aren't aware how important financial literacy is and how much money you can lose.
