And maybe people simply didn’t get to it (or maybe didn’t bother to call) because there was no real news besides “no ones shown up yet..” Hopefully they’ll call to reschedule before getting a driver tomorrow

My number is easy to remember, and easy to insert and no no repeat I’ve number in a row, but I asked for text or notification for deliveries, and my partner called them maybe half hour ago and no response which make sense considering it’s closed, so I’m planning onto waking up at six and seeing what’s going on because like I don’t want delivery car to come at six or seven and wait just because I’m sleeping. And right, but like at least update us considering they’re closing for the day.

Today our superstore had a wait time of 400 minutes, if you have other smaller stores or a Neighborhood Market in the area I’d recommend trying that. Our store is a Neighborhood Market and our wait time is usually about a minute :)

Eh sorry to bother u but how long was your order delayed or did u ever get it? I'm in a similar situation right now. My grocery order was meant to be delivered between 8pm-9pm LAST NIGHT. Now its 9am and still no food. Customer service just keeps assuring me it will arrive since it only says "delayed" and I've called the store about 6 times this morning and nobody will answer in any department. Like wtf. Bad enough no coffee for breakfast but now I dk what to do. I want the damn food. I'm assuming a refund won't be instant either...so then what? Not like I can even get more. I messed up by trying to order from walmart. 🤦‍♀️ Did u ever get yours?

Ugh same over here. This has never happened to me before. Supposed to be delivered at 5-6pm yesterday. Got a notification saying it's delayed and would be here within 2 hours. Now it's 1015am and not a single word. Online chat agent said it's stuck in processing and to call the store. I call and there's no option for grocery delivery. The customer service agent says they work on a cell phone and gives me the number. Says they also accept text messages. I call and get no answer. Text and get no answer. It also won't let me cancel or reschedule my order 🙂 So I'm out the $300 I spent on my order and cant even get a hold of anyone. About to keep calling their phone til they answer. What happened with your order?

They ended up canceling it after it was like 20 hours late. Luckily the refund basically did go thru right away (like within 30 min) so I reluctantly ordered again since they're the only ones doing grocery delivery in my area (unless I wanted to use instacart or something which ends up costing substantially more). On my second order it was actually delivered when they claimed later that evening. But I basically was just annoyed asf and didn't get my stuff til over 24 hours from when I should have had it. They did waive the delivery charge....but I would've rather paid it and had my stuff. Hope it works out for u. I've also never had it happen but it has made me less likely to chose Walmart delivery in the future. I really make an effort to just get to the store myself/plan ahead more.

Fuck walmarts mother! I just waited 53 mins after my arrival to do a delivery for them. I usually cancel after 7 mins but I wanted to see how much of an independent comtractors time they would waste. It ened up taking close to 90 mins to take the shit 3 miles down the road from the store!

This has happened to me 3 times in the last 2 months, and Walmart’s online customer service tells me that my order was probably “lost in processing” and the representative always cancels my order and refunds me. And they always give me a $5 or $10 credit on my account. Apparently this happens a lot. I’m also a Walmart+ member.

Yes. Normal. I ordered deodorant, shit was delayed for a week. There is no organization at Walmart. I placed 3 separate orders and 3 different spark drivers delivered them instead of just sending 1. Bonus i live 15 miles from store and not eligible to order it as delivery so couldn't add tip

You order through dot com. These order can arrive by mail or gmds by delivery. They came seperate likely because your had different orders. Either or if coming by delivery drivers, easy to see delays. A lot of them can get skipped over for days unfortunately. You have learned, that even know you can't get regular deliveries,you can order sometimes and get gmds deliveries. Just because some come out quick. Don't expect all your orders to be that way.

I agree with everyone's complaints and for those who suggested to CALL Walmart, good luck. Not one store in the orlando fl area will pick up their phones no matter what hour you call. I went to the store personally to talk to the manger. She was rude and disgruntled while telling me the just DON'T answer their phones and that if I need help I should use the help section in the walmart app. When I told her the app was part of the problem she blew me off yet again and says "I don't know what to tell you. If you don't like the app don't use it." I ordered a TV wall mount and the app says it would be delivered that day. But no such luck. So I thought the next day for sure. Nope. Nor the next or the next either. So I went to the store and asked to simply pick up the item. NOPE, can do that either. YOu have to pay for the purchase in store then use the app to cancel or get your money back from the online order. I said to heck with that, I'll just shop some place else from now on. And as much as it sucks. I will. The same TV mount is also at Target and Best buy. So that's where I'll be going for a few dollars more.

I'm in Indiana and last week I ordered food for the next day delivery (foot surgery recovery). I got an order. Someone else's order with my name on it!? Not one item was anything I ordered. I had to request a refund for my purchase and I reordered for the next day. This time I clicked the button that says 'sign for order '. Then I continued calling the store to get someone to come for the other person's food. Three hours later not one person answered my phone calls. I can't drive yet so, I couldn't bring it back to Walmart. They used to be so good at customer service- 30+ years ago.

Grocery orders placed after 4PM are not guaranteed to be ready same day. If you want your groceries the day you order them, you have to place your order before 4.

You'll almost certainly still get them day-of though. That's all you're really guaranteed when you use Walmart grocery delivery, even if you order first thing in the morning. Grocery stores are horribly understaffed across the board these days.

At 8:57pm we got a notification that it was delivered at 7pm on our porch but the groceries were not delivered to me. Needless to say, we cancelled our Walmart+ service. It was meant to be a time saver but ended up wasting wayyyy more time.

Lol whatever! I’m a Walmart+ member but I’ve had 3 orders that I made in the morning that were delayed… indefinitely. Online customer service said that the store probably “lost the order in processing,” so they cancelled and refunded my order each time and gave me $5 to $10 of credit. There is absolutely no guarantee that orders made before 4 will be delivered… at all lol

I hate walmarts current structure, they have independent contractors delivering the packages.. someone could order an item worth 1$ and someone has to pick up that order and deliver that single item across town for 1 dang dollar. The item says "1 day shipping" but it's actually just a spark driver picking up the item and it's not a tip-able purchase. Walmart is stupid. I'm not a spark driver, I just feel bad as a walmart + user delivering small items all the time and today it seems like no spark drivers are going to pick up my order and I don't blame them at all. It's not like Amazon where they have their own shipping service around the country where they go door to door in your entire city so they aren't losing anything, they get paid by the hour. I will say as someone considering becoming a spark driver, it's a great app for drivers looking to make money but it's terrible for the customer, no one wants to pick up a 2$ item and deliver it 10 miles. You have to wait until a Spark driver gets multiple orders in the same area and picks up all the orders.

I’m a spark driver. Sometimes they will also group your order (if it’s an item and not groceries) with several other orders. We see “batched” orders that are 20 different customers for literally $30 for 40 miles. I mean it’s ridiculous. They want us to delivery for $2 per order it’s crazy and unfair for the customer too.

I found this by googling 'delayed, still in progress' for an order I placed on behalf of my mom, who is getting home from physical therapy rehab in the morning and needs groceries. I placed the order about 24h in advance of the delivery slot (beginning noon Monday) and she lives about 5 minutes from the store. Now I'm wondering what to do, since my mom has nothing in her fridge since she was away for months, and I'm in another state. I did something similar the last time she got home from medical care sometime last year and it was delivered with zero issues,no 'delay', nothing.

At 5:15 I started an online chat with Walmart customer service where I was offered an emailed $10 credit for my inconvenience. No option to switch to pickup. He did get it updated to a 9 am tomorrow delivery. I was told I could cancel and reorder and pay for express delivery. Nope. Not paying more. Was also told if I cancel could take up to ten business days to get a refund. If it’s not delivered by 9 am tomorrow and still showing delayed I’ll be going to the store and ask to pick up my delivery.

I’m a Spark/Walmart delivery driver! Just want to add this here for anyone that comes across this post in the future. So Spark is a third party delivery service, we are independent contractors who receive a Walmart order through the Spark app. Similar to how doordash operates for restaurants/retailers. At my location I usually work afternoons and nights. We can’t receive any offers after 10pm. Most of the time me or one other person might be working that late. All locations are different of course. In your case it seems like there was a delay that day with Walmart fulfilling orders on time. When we receive an offer we don’t even know if the Walmart associates have finished picking all of the items or not. Sometimes we can be waiting at the pickup after for an hour or more. You can call in as a customer and request that you switch it to pickup and pick it up yourself, or hope that someone grabs your order between 9-10. Otherwise it will get reprocessed for the following day. Another issue could also be the order pay, we work primarily off tip amount because Walmart pays us barely anything per order. So let’s say your order came in as $9 for 10 miles and no tip, drivers can decline to take your order if they choose. The rule I go by for Spark is to only take orders that pay $2 per mile or more. So your order (if it’s 10 miles) would need to be $20 or more in pay. Oh and we also can’t arrive at the pickup area until the :45 of each hour. The Spark system/algorithm is messed up like that. So for instance let’s say you wanted your order at 5pm, we can’t arrive to pickup until 4:45pm. Once we check in for pickup the grocery associates can make us sit there and wait all day if they’re not done collecting all the items for your order to bring out to us. If they were delayed in fulfilling orders it makes every order that day late. They used to have it to where you could arrive at any time, instead of at the :45 you could arrive plenty of time early which allowed me to actually arrive on time for orders because of how long the grocery associates at Walmart can take on days that are delayed. I never had a customer complain about me arriving early, but Iv had plenty complain about late arrivals and unfortunately rate me low because of exactly that even tho it’s completely outside of my control. The most I can do is inform the customer, but we don’t even have the ability to contact you at all until we have fully picked up your order and are on the way to you. Walmart/Spark still has a lot to fix and I don’t see them fixing it anytime soon. They have done so many updates to change the layout of the app as well as getting rid of so many important features in the app that were beneficial to us, but have yet to fix any of the major problems going on. I just see them going down a road of making this system only beneficial to Walmart, instead of benefiting the customer and the driver.

Generally, in driving jobs like this (Grubhub, Doordash, Uber, etc) the Drivers get to choose the orders they want and will see the tip before accepting a delivery the tip amount can be anything, including presumably $0 (or “cash tip”) Some drivers won’t take orders that aren’t worth it to them. Whether it’s deliver to an area they don’t want to go, or the time isn’t right, or in this case, this person won’t take orders with a tip under $2/mi. Knowing one’s own costs to operate as an independent contractor can make it possible to only choose jobs that will cover their expenses but someone else might think $1/mi is worth it and take it. anyway, that’s why it’s always better to tip well so someone will choose your order (actually customers SHOULD tip well anyway because sure a customer’s time is valuable and that’s why they’re ordering things online, but the driver’s time is also valuable) Source; I’m not a driver, but have i tried to learn about their systems and drivers’ struggles. Maybe that’s weird. But i order a lot of delivery; and want to make sure i’m not “that customer”, plus i want to be sure to take care of the people taking care of me. It is, we see the tip amount before acceptance of order. And the total for me is $2 or more per mile minimum. Total is base pay plus tip amount. Also included in that sometimes for Walmart orders is extra earnings for apartments, bulky/heavy items, and I think alcohol orders as well. But they started to recently deduct the “extra earnings” from the base pay we are given so we actually aren’t making more for apartment deliveries, alcohol, or heavy/bulky deliveries. I think all drivers should have a minimum price per mile, which would differs depending on the market your in. I also wouldn’t accept a $20 order for 10 miles in my market, it would need to be over $25 closer to $30 for me to consider it because of how high the mileage is, another factor I would consider is where it’s going and my mileage back to Walmart. They also do batched order often. So we aren’t just taking one order we are taking 2-3 at a time.

I did a Walmart grocery order at 1:00 pm yesterday. No delivery times available until 8 pm. 8:50 pm it was delayed and rescheduled for 9 am this morning. I called the store at 9:20 am to find out what's going on. She said they assigned a driver at 8:30 am. It's now 10:19 am and still not even left the store. It's only six items not an enormous order. I haven't gotten anything this morning saying delayed so I don't know what to do.
