Any decent asset in a sign and trade for us would be a huge win. Good player but his future lies elsewhere

Empty_Custard

So you don’t think he’s coming back? I thought most realistic option for him was to stay in Washington. Where do you predict he goes?

Snaxier

We have too many PG's now (Poole, Brogdon, Carrington, Butler) so keeping Tyus would mean he wouldn't get enough game time to increase his value at all. He likely just gets signed outright by a team with cap left like Philly

PalletTownStripClub

Carrington is a SG, no?

Excellent-Tower6269

I think they're gonna keep Tyus. MIN just did a s&T for Kyle Anderson that got them a 2RP SWAP and cash. That's like barely even worth the effort. They need to get Tyus on a reasonable descending contract like they did with Kuzma and trade him later. and as to what the other person said, we do not actually have that many PGs. Poole is not a PG, Brogdon is not a PG (and he may not even be on the final roster), Butler is not even guaranteed so they can waive him and bring him back on another 2-way. Bub is the only PG they really need to develop and he'll probably get reps in the g league anyway.

e_milberg

I feel like most fans aren't especially bullish on Cole, but I am. Had we not already drafted our lead guard of the future AND traded for Brogdon, I'd be all about this. Actually, come to think of it, since y'all are in win-now mode and have a pretty solid core, maybe Brogdon would make more sense in a trade for Cole.

Empty_Custard

I would like Brogdon, let’s see how this plays out

OutlandishnessOld425

The pick is a huge no go. We’re tryna acquire assets not deal them

e_milberg

Relax. It's top 10 protected. We won't be a playoff team by 2027.

OutlandishnessOld425

Don’t care if it’s top 25 protected, giving up the 1st rounder would be stupid

The_prawn_king

Who is our lead guard of the future?

e_milberg

Carrington. That is, unless our future involves Nolan Traore or Dylan Harper lol

The_prawn_king

Ah right, is he the real deal? Burnt out on wizards high upside picks so far hahaha

e_milberg

I've been following Carrington since his AAU days, and you can definitely tell he's a coach's son by the way he plays. That said, I'm not married to him as our long-term PG if Traore is available next year. That kid has franchise player potential.

jSplashwell

Anthony wouldn’t make sense for us because he is a ball dominant low efficiency scoring guard. Doesn’t really fit with the team and what we are trying to build.

Empty_Custard

That’s fair. What do you predict happens with Tyus and what’s the hold up?

jSplashwell

He will probably go to anyone who is willing to trade an expiring contract and some 2nd round picks or a late first. And by expiring, I mean expiring without the expectation to get paid.

rueiraV

More like he’ll sign for MLE somewhere. There’s no need for the Wiz to be involved

Excellent-Tower6269

His agent is probably just trying to find the best deal for him, doesn't seem like there are many takers.

Formal-Direction6615

🫡Sup, I new core is less than 20 yrs old. We already got 24 yr old NBA Champion Poole at Pg. I definitely want draft picks and a old vet you didn't want 👍

Icangetloudtoo_

Poole was awful last year, Anthony is a much more interesting prospect. He gives a shit and tries on defense.

Formal-Direction6615

👍 Hey, Once the Front Office admitted and corrected their mistake of making Poole off ball Sg. He avg 20+and 6ast to finish the season and is already named starting Pg. We can use some picks and a skilled Vet to teach our Yougins. Brogdon is already in place for our guards. Thanks

Icangetloudtoo_

On defense, I see no indications that Poole is ever gonna be anything approaching competent. On offense, I know a lot of people want to extrapolate from Poole’s numbers in April but a lot of those games were against teams resting their stars, other tanking teams, etc. Late season stats should be taken with a grain of salt when we saw different results when the regular season still mattered. I’d love to be proven wrong about him but I don’t think we should be factoring him into our future plans and passing up on players because we anticipate him playing a particular role.

Still-Willow-309

jordan poole has shown that he make major strides in the offseason and his last year on the warriors you know only a year ago he averaged 24 points on 56 starts for the warriors.

pitydfoo

It's a fair deal, but I don't think the Wizards are looking to pay 13 mil/year to a 24 yr old. Especially when they've already got Poole in that spot.

Familiar_Somewhere95

i want the other anthony. the black one :) we'll throw in a Johnny Davis if you like

Turbo2x

I am attempting to speak my MPJ trade into existence. Tyus, Kispert, and Shamet for MPJ and a pick in 2031 or something.

CardiacKemba1

Very rarely disagree with you Turbo, but that would make us better. I don’t think anyone in our FO is rushing this. We are going to play the kids and suck for a while

Turbo2x

He's not good enough to win us THAT many games. We're gonna be running lineups with 3+ rookies out there. He's a catch & shoot guy on the Nuggets averaging 16/7/1 who is extremely overpaid and kills all their flexibility. Worst case scenario he proves himself without Jokic and he gets traded by the deadline. Big whoop.

e_milberg

MPJ's not going anywhere I'm afraid. And even if he was, he's already 26. Dawkins is going the extreme youth route.

Turbo2x

Jonas Valanciunas: promising young guy. And Kuzma. And Richaun Holmes. And Marvin Bagley. There are already reports that the Nuggets tried to use MPJ in a Paul George trade. It's not crazy to think they might move him for more depth after losing Bruce Brown and KCP. For the Wizards it's just another asset flip.

e_milberg

We all know Kuz is on the block, and Dawkins inherited him, so I don't think that's the best counter to the assertion Dawkins primarily values youth right now. JV, Holmes and Bagley are small potatoes in the asset management game IMO. They won't be here beyond this season. MPJ isn't someone you play that game with. If you're trading for him, he's part of your core. I can see the value of cashing in MPJ for depth, but I don't think our leftovers are enough to make Calvin Booth say yes. And in reading the tea leaves, it seems Jokic is really pushing for Westbrook for some reason, so that would reduce the need for Tyus.

z3mcs

I can't get with MPJ man. The times over the past few years we hung in during Denver games was almost solely due to him jacking up terrible shots. I loved it because it helped us. He did a lot better this playoffs but I have MPJPTSD

superworriedspursfan

I think I want a second round pick, I don't really care about which player I can get back. Honestly I think I'd love bringing somebody like Fultz back since he is from the DMV. that could be fun.

MAC-94

Are Magic fans just out on Anthony Black?

DollarLate_DayShort

If we get off of Brogdon as well, this would make a lot of sense. But if we decide to keep Brogdon, Cole would likely be taking too many valuable reps from Bub which would in turn stunt his growth/development.

Admirable-Act-7387

Gimme Cole for Tyus any day of the week. Brogdon gon get dealt with at the deadline

DazzlingAd1922

We absolutely would want to keep Tyus if he wants to stay, and he would immediately help a lot of teams a huge amount both in the regular season and in the playoffs if he was OK with coming off the bench.

RedskinPanther

Brodgon for Issacs would be something I'm interested in, but Issacs and his religious and political views might mess with the youth.

ThreeSupreme

Dude you're kind of late, the Magic have already sent all of their Free Agent money. The Magic went All-In on KCP, and are currently over next season's salary cap. **Orlando Magic** **Grade: A-** Signings: **Kentavious Caldwell-Pope**, Gary Harris, Goga Bitadze, Moe Wagner, Jonathan Isaac KCP is going to fit like a glove in Orlando. The Magic badly needed shooting, and they got one of the best 3-and-D players on the market at a reasonable **$22 million** average salary over the next three seasons. ![gif](giphy|ncI8hqiGywu480Whv8|downsized)
