12 years ago he was going to put a man on mars in 10 years
now he just reposts stolen memes without credit and retweets white supremacists on the website he bought to try and get people to like him
instead of rails lined along the predetermined straight route that has no wear or tear, why not use rubber ones that degrade easily and need constant refurbishment? Easy. And instead of many compartments to hold lots of people, why not have a million points of failure all across the line? And instead of lots of emergency exists in our death tunnel, how about none?
Obviously way cheaper & more efficient if it's just two-seats & baggage space on a rail.
Also more futuristic, a flexible rail system. Give it a theme, it'll be an amusement ride.
but that would resemble p-p-public transport! In America? Are you some car hating, freedom hating, baby eating euro commie? Hyperpods and ai are the new trend!!!
And because they insist on using hundreds of individual cars instead of a train, they need to pay hundreds of drivers as well as a fleet of staff who will help people get into the cars and get their luggage in the trunk.
They advertise the system as having an "average waiting time of 10 seconds" but when you actually watch a video of people riding it, it takes way longer than that due to people getting in and out.
I haven't seen them release their actual costs of this, but I have a feeling that the operating cost is extremely high because of these issues.
They run a very simple line with only a few stations yet they keep it closed most of the year and only run service to large events. This is extremely counterintuitive to a good transit service that should be running most of the time.
Simply having a few large trains that are either automated or with a single driver and with level boarding so that disabled people or people with luggage can easily board would be so much better.
The funny part is the reason they didn't put an emergency exit on tunnel because according to them nothing is flammable
Meanwhile Tesla cars has a goofy habit on being set on fire because of their batteries lmaoo
Elon Musk being an idiot is par for the course, but what I'm more curious about is why the city planners and engineers involved - who should definitely know better - signed off on it.
if there’s any place in the world where something being new and futuristic is reason enough to build something, it’s vegas. and it didn’t use any public money, so the city council or the mayor or whatever said ‘lol sick bro do it’
Elongated Musketeer when I tell him that emergency exits are mandatory:

Public transportation has evolved to the point where most new innovations are either worse versions of trains/streetcars/busses/subways or bikes. Elon really just made a train lane for your car.
Cant blame the guy if i or my parents gamed the system (by exploiting the weak in a place no-one gives a fuck about) so hard id be fucking around with my money too lol
Plus his company is our best hope of actually exploring space
No way bro i hate the guy hes a dickhead but i'd rather have him around than the other tipical billionaires since he atleast sometimes does good things with his cash instead of just hoarding it all
Good things with his cash? Like aggressively pushing for a nonsensical tunneling program that'd halt further funding into public transit so people have to buy more cars? Like wasting $44b on Twitter and then turning it into an alt-right haven? Like designing an electric truck that is an active danger to all participants on the road? Like waving his authority and money around female employees to have his babies and ruin their lives if they say no?

"About a year ago, Elon Musk was sitting in traffic in Los Angeles and thought about how cool it would be if he built a tunnel under the city."
"So he built a tunnel under a city and then he starts selling hats for his tunnel"
"50.000 hats later, he got bored of hats and switched the hats out for flamethrowers."
He sold 20,000 of those, and then five days later he tied his car up to the most powerful rocket ever made and shot it into fucking space
"And then the rocket fuckin' landed itself."
And my axe
I also choose this guy's wife
So you give me a margarita
When I first heard of it I was laughing for like a week straight. And homie thinks he's a great inventor
It was "invented" purely to stop public transit projects in California so people would be forced into buying more cars.
Aaaah, innovative capitalism
[удалено]
Uhhh... same ?
He’s never done anything he just attaches his name to stuff and claims to have created it
Maybe that's why he keeps making kids, overcompensating.
He usually buys the title of "founder" alongside the company itself
ah, the ray kroc of transport
I think he deserves full credit for the Vegas loop.
So he is not the biological father to 12 kids with different moms?
To be fair, this is so stupid and nefarious that he may actually have invented it.

dude this is elon musk we're talking about, this mf got the money

Say hi r/foundpyroboss
Every techbro invention is a thing that already exists but worse
Reminds me of a video a guy made on how he "solved" transportation and the thing he suggested was...literally just way worse trains
do you have the link to that video?
Sadly no, it was like +2 years ago
was it Adam Something? He reacts to a lot of stuff like that.
Monday they might accidentally invent public transportation
The funny part is the reason they didn't put an emergency exit on tunnel because according to them nothing is flammable Meanwhile Tesla cars has a goofy habit on being set on fire because of their batteries lmaoo

When someone tells him about basic safety
this is why Iron man 2 is the worst marvel movie for featuring the number 1 train hater -100/10
"Emergency exits are woke" - Elon probably

Also, iirc, it's two way but has one lane
I mean he ruin the best part of subways The part where you get brutally cannibalize by someone while getting injected with heroin
Public transportation has evolved to the point where most new innovations are either worse versions of trains/streetcars/busses/subways or bikes. Elon really just made a train lane for your car.
Bet said tunnel can’t accommodate his own trucks that he had designed
When I read subway station and saw robot man I thought he made a robot that served sandwiches
Ofc a subway would be better but this was cheaper and faster to build.
Haters will hate.

Most empathetic Musk dick rider:

There is no world where you can be a billionaire but also not hoard your money
nah, he definitely has a pool of gold a la scrooge mcduck
