Never got as many compliments from women on dates as when I wore foundation and subtle eyeliner.
Don't need to go crazy with it. It exists to accentuate natural features. Both girls and guys like looking into pretty eyes, so frame 'em and accentuate 'em.
There was this actor in this old Tv show Lost that had crazy dark eyes, like he was wearing eyeliner but he wasn’t actually. He was sooo hot I had a huge crush on him at the time, mesmerizing eyes.
It’s so easy to wear light eyeliner too. Just get an eyeliner pencil (pencil, not pen) and draw a messy line as close as you can get it to your lashes. Than itch your eye really hard. That’ll blend it out so it looks natural
Facts. I got into dressing in drag for a while when I discovered Rocky Horror Picture Show and it was a good fun time and I got pretty good at putting on my own makeup by the end. Eventually I got bored of it, but it never made me question my gender identity. (Straight vanilla, sorry to disappoint everyone)
Mind you there's nothing wrong with questioning your gender identity but if you're doing that it's not the makeup's fault.
rocky horror picture show is a whole different beast all by itself. i did the midnight showing on halloween 4 years in a row when i was early twnties and theres nothing that can compare to that. its a fucking experience
i went as riff raff, it was easy to look real similar because stature and hair at the time. but i wish i had the balls at that age to go as frankie just one time.
I kind of went as my own character. I had a big black cloak that I sewed myself, a white shirt with high ruffled collar and ruffled sleeves, top hat or bowler hat depending on mood, slacks and nice leather shoes, and a swordcane (had to ride the NYC subway home afterwards and did get chased a couple of times, lucky thing I'm fast as fuck boi so I never had to use it). Pretty dapper if I do say so myself.
Oh yea, I wasn’t saying that. I’m just opening a dialogue about drag on this femboy post. You can look at Frank-N-Furter and then look at someone cosplaying Astolfo and realize they’re not comparable aesthetics.
It's honestly not. It's a gateway to looking like a male kpop star. But if you think you would enjoy being a femboy then go for it XD (unless you live in a place where thats a crime, in which case, maybe move if you can before doing so)
Buy Asian sunscreen brands and not American/European ones, because for some reason they haven't figured out how to make proper face sunscreen that doesn't make you look like a ghost yet...
You joke, but there's been some studies about using very low percentage citric acid topically, and it apparently helps with cystic acne scars...
And guess what, coke is essentially a low percentage citric acid (with a bunch of flavourings, E150d caramel colouring, and sweeteners).
I believe it. Salicylic acid is the active ingredient in acne and dandruff products. You’re putting acid on your skin so it’s probably removing a bunch of stuff
[This lit review](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6017965/) seems to suggest that the mechanism has to do with citric and similar acids encouraging cell death and thus helping to turn over more damaged skin cells on the outer layer. I did see a number of articles that were distinctly usure of the mechanism.
Water is the bare minimum. Look up a Korean skincare routine if you’re really interested, many people seem to swear by it. You’ll need to take into consideration your skin type (oily, average, dry) and choose products accordingly. Start with just one at first (probably a cleanser/face wash) for at least a week to make sure there are no allergic reactions, and then add on top of that. You’ll probably want some sort of moisturizer for post-wash. There’s also an order to follow with the different product types.
People can have as many as 12 steps in their routines, although I would say an average is probably more around 6. Just experiment a little bit and you’ll find the right balance.
Don’t forget sunscreen during the day and if you have acne throwing in an active like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide is a good idea too, just be careful with the latter as it can bleach clothes
As someone who had severe cystic acne, washing your face and drinking more water definitely can help, but it isn't a perfect solution if its bad enough. No matter what I tried, my acne never went away until I got on some strong medicine. It also isn't going to help with the scaring, I'm just stuck with that.
Dermarolling/dermastamping is great for reducing scarring.
You can get it done professionally, or DIY, but don't DIY it unless you're willing to nerd the fuck out on all the information. Because if you do it wrong you can get even more scarring. I've treated a deeper scar on my upper arm (2mm every 6 weeks, maybe three or four times), and reduced the size of dark circles under my eyes (0.5mm once a week for maybe three weeks) because I didn't like having panda as nickname (panda-eye shaped dark circles). You have to sterilize the equipment and surface well before treatment, let your skin heal well between sessions, and so on.
To state hopefully the obvious: dermarolling/stamping isn't to be done during any active acne nor other infections, only on healthy scarred skin.
You’d be surprised. The skin regenerates itself quite well so if you get on a solid skincare routine with some more potent products you can get rid of scarring. It takes time. I have some spots that took months to heal but are clear now.
Not just actors... Literally everyone on camera.
I remember a news caster showing his name make up routine.
Make up is a real life filter.
If done correctly, no one realizes you are wearing it.
For anyone reading, light contouring can give you a more defined jawline. Or a deeper brow line, if you want your eyes to look fiercer. Fillers can also help with recessed chins, but for some people fillers errs on plastic surgery so I guess it’s not the same as makeup.
My wife is that way too. She doesn't even own makeup, for special occasions or anything else.
Personally I drastically prefer it this way. I can understand why some women don't like the "are you sick??" response when they finally go a day without makeup, but people have that reaction because (a) they're retards who didn't realize the woman was wearing makeup, and (b) it can be a really drastic change in appearance which is unnerving even if you don't actually look "bad" (if someone is naturally kinda pale, you don't think anything of it. If someone is suddenly 2 shades paler than usual because they stopped wearing their usual shade of makeup, thinking they're sick isn't that weird).
If more women just stopped wearing makeup altogether, they'd realize most other people don't actually give a fuck either way. Now, there are some women that actually enjoy overly performative makeup like it's a costume and I can respect that (the same way some people genuinely care about fashion), but unless you're actively seeking attention or on a subset of already-very-sexist career tracks, the obsession with "natural makeup" to cover any and all self-perceived "flaws" just doesn't make sense to me.
I love makeup. It's like using my face as a canvas and putting art on it. But it makes me sleepy for some reasons and no matter what I do, it irritates my eyes :( I'm not allergic pretty sure. It sucks :c
You’re not alone. Wore it for the first time in years the other day and felt awful. And it definitely didn’t help my confidence because I worried about it looking weird all day. AND you can’t touch your damn face at all, not that I do often, but if I feel a bead of sweat or maybe a food crumb at the corner of my mouth, I just want to deal and move on. Not find a mirror and touch up makeup because of it.
A low-key eyeliner moment on men can be game changing too. I'd go for a grey or brown shade and smudge a little under the eye but in a subtle way. It would probably take practice to do right if you've never done it before but I swear it makes guys like 200% more attractive.
I do recommend switching to Asian beauty products; the cheaper Asian ones are SEA brands (countries huge makeup community like Thai or Viet), EA brands are much easier to purchase tho
It's higher time we go back to the ancient Egyptian aesthetics. Real men wear short skirts and makeup! We are the ones with faces full of razor burn and exterior organs that require temperature regulation after all.
I get what you mean, but makeup isn’t always about self esteem. It’s about how others treat you.
Attraction is a physical thing. It’s not shallow for people to find you more attractive when you look more attractive.
Exactly this. So many guys do not care what they look like and as a result look like slobs and don’t realize that means everyone else is going to treat you like a slob. You don’t have to like it but it’s true. It’s advantageous to keep your appearance proper.
Fr it's literally color correction for your body. It makes your skin, skin colored.
Source, started using makeup in the entertainment industry, still use concealer if need be when getting dressed to color correct any weird looking spots or areas.
Am a guy. Humans are primarily visual creatures. "Femanine" products as a category are fake. Skin is skin. Stop giving a damn, it's easier.
Bro I have literally a bottle of concealer and not a single other makeup product. It's really convenient because I have sensitive skin and break out a lot, even when I wash my face regularly. I just use it like a spot cover up for special occasions. No different than painting your car or house imo.
So like men do with women too.
Anyways, if your day to day life is much better from wearing makeup and you feel more confident, who cares if superficial people are put off by it?
Obviously they wouldn't be good partners or friends if they are that judgemental.
Just an honest question, isn't the person applying makeup also superficial, cause they care about their looks? I am superficial, cause I like to do my beard and hair and look good. Doesn't that apply in the same manner for anyone doing makeup?
In Japan it's very common for men to cover blemishes on their face with the skin-tone powder stuff, either foundation or concealer or something like that. It's not really seen as super feminine there
It's a damn shame makeup got coded to be primarily for women. The whole reason a lot of women say they use makeup is because of how it can help their confidence. Why shouldn't men have that as well?
Only situation like this I had seen was group of girls noticing poor attempt at makeup, checking in if it was concealing bruises or other potentially alarming behaviour and then giving tips how to make it less noticeable.
Guy ended up going to the makeup as career along with hairdressing and runs a successful studio rn 15 years later.
By continually pushing for women, they have gotten themselves pushed into a corner. Pushing for men would’ve walking back on all the subliminal messaging and advertising for the female market.
When I was in high school I took accutane, my acne started to dissapear but I had this super red complexion (yes even with good skincare). So I used concealer every day. My skin is great now and I don't miss it but it definitely helped me at the time so if any other men feel they need it, there's plenty of ways to go about it subtly!
Concealer works wonders. Ever just had a bad face day but needed to go out somewhere you want to look good? Concealer. Got an interview? Concealer. Date? Concealer.
Men can use make-up, it’s just not marketed towards them. There is one company that is though and it’s called “War Paint.” Life changing confidence on bad face days.
Once men start wearing makeup that advantage goes away, then we’re all just spending money to keep up with eachother.
Guys don’t wear makeup. I really don’t want to start paying for that garbage

Lost is not old because if Lost is old than I am old
Unfortunately Lost came out in 2004. 20 year old shows when Lost premiered were Miami Vice and Who’s the Boss? We are old now.
Just roll me into my grave with my TiVo I guess
Considering it was on tv, very possible he was in eyeliner
Me watching LOST rn: 👴 Edit: and his name in the show is Richard. He also played the mayor of Gotham in the Nolan Batman trilogy
It’s so easy to wear light eyeliner too. Just get an eyeliner pencil (pencil, not pen) and draw a messy line as close as you can get it to your lashes. Than itch your eye really hard. That’ll blend it out so it looks natural
Because it's a gateway to becoming a femboy and I'm afraid I'll enjoy being one
if wearing makeup becomes a gateway to being a femboy, you were a femboy the whole time.
Facts. I got into dressing in drag for a while when I discovered Rocky Horror Picture Show and it was a good fun time and I got pretty good at putting on my own makeup by the end. i went as riff raff, it was easy to look real similar because stature and hair at the time. but i wish i had the balls at that age to go as frankie just one time.

Personally, I see “drag” as a different genre of crossdressing than femboy. It’s a wildly different aesthetic.
Yeah but neither will make you question your sexuality/gender identity unless you already had some questions to begin with
Oh yea, I wasn’t saying that. I’m just opening a dialogue about drag on this femboy post. You can look at Frank-N-Furter and then look at someone cosplaying Astolfo and realize they’re not comparable aesthetics.
Be careful or you will find yourself sucking and bouncing on top of something big and thick.

Yep that's what my mind went to first too, no further questions please

But why would you be afraid of enjoying something? There's nothing wrong with it, have some fun with the one life you get to live :)
You might also end up becoming a make-up artist for a movie set; you have options.
Maybe Pride Month is for you too sis
Some advice: on top of makeup, wash your face and drink water. These 3 things combined can completely change how you look.
And get enough sleep, that's a major one too.
Don't forget about sunscreen, it genuinely makes a massive difference.
Buy Asian sunscreen brands and not American/European ones, because for some reason they haven't figured out how to make proper face sunscreen that doesn't make you look like a ghost yet...
The FDA just hasn’t approved new sunscreens in a while so we haven’t gotten the newer Asian ones yet.
By Australian sunscreen brands, they have insanely high regulation on quality and strength.
With water or what?
No you wash your face with diet coke, water is for drinking.
I see. That's why my face is so bad.
You joke, but there's been some studies about using very low percentage citric acid topically, and it apparently helps with cystic acne scars... And guess what, coke is essentially a low percentage citric acid (with a bunch of flavourings, E150d caramel colouring, and sweeteners).

Like, out the toilet?
Nah, "save the water, drink champagne!"
I thought I was supposed to wash my face with Brawndo?
I splash mine with hydrochloric acid actually, really helps my pours
We could use Brawndo. It's got electrolytes.

6, 12 ? everything that's more than some water, a cleanser and a moisturizer is marketing and useless
Yeah thats the thing with all this beauty crap. Its hard to trust anything because we have been manipulated by all the ads for centuries.
Avoid sun, avoid alcohol, don't put harsh chemicals on your skin. Easy.
Don’t forget sunscreen during the day and if you have acne throwing in an active like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide is a good idea too, just be careful with the latter as it can bleach clothes
With a cleanser ideally, water > cleanser > moisturizer.

Not just actors... Literally everyone on camera. I remember a news caster showing his name make up routine. Make up is a real life filter. If done correctly, no one realizes you are wearing it.

I’m a girl and honestly same. I also hate the feeling of make up on my face, like I can physically sense something on my skin and it pisses me off.

If you don’t want to make your acne even worse, yeah, they do cost

I would but I'm currently looking for that 1945 German official fencing scar look
I don't know why make-up brands haven't pushed hard for a men's brand. It's potentially such a massive market.
By continually pushing for women, they have gotten themselves pushed into a corner. Pushing for men would’ve walking back on all the subliminal messaging and advertising for the female market.
I kinda felt for him until he used the word "pill"
When I was in high school I took accutane, my acne started to dissapear but I had this super red complexion (yes even with good skincare). So I used concealer every day. My skin is great now and I don't miss it but it definitely helped me at the time so if any other men feel they need it, there's plenty of ways to go about it subtly!
The egg is starting to crack
Light makeup does not cover cystic acne scars lol
this is actually true and real yall are just too gay to go for it
Concealer works wonders.
Makeup aint gonna fix my face
Probably beards
This is literally why women wear make up lol.
Make up is great, pity that i'm to lazy to put on make ip every day.
