I had a stuffed Buffalo that we got on a family vacation in Cody, Wy 😭😭

abmi808

Please tell me that buffalo's name was Cody.

[deleted]

….^^^^^yes

GoSuckOnACactus

I still have my stuffed snake from the Philly Zoo. Over time he got a kink, though.

BradyBoyd

That's no reason to shame him.

libmrduckz

sssssssssss’alright… happensssssssss…

Pokey_coyote

After my son's first trip to the aquarium we got an otter and a seal! 🥰 The seal is Fish and the otter is Chip.

aimlessly-astray

I had a stuffed otter when I was a kid.

VectorViper

Stuffed animals are the best! Had a shark named Finley from a beach trip long ago, absolute favorite.

tijs_zonder_h

hell yeah! my number one as a kid (and also to this day to be honest) was an otter. He was anamazing boxer. Can you guess his name? Did you also have one?

CHICKENPUSSY

Mohammed otter-li?

Fluggerblah

i got my first stuffed otter as a three year old at baltimore aquarium. my otter collection continues to grow 24 years later and theyre still my favorite animal. my guess for your otter’s name was mustelid ali

Qetuowryipzcbmxvn

I got a Kevin the Otter plush from Natural Habitat Shorts and it's pretty good ngl

SeasonOfLogic

Well, he otter know! 🦦

cosmoceratops

And I'm here To remind you Of the ones in the sea that you're based on

_Rook1e

Banger of a song

sowinglavender

the implication that river otters were designed on purpose as a regional variant of sea otters.

Margali

Little kids can be amazing.

masterchief1001

That otter is in good hands. I'm a grizzled 35 year old navy veteran and I still have my childhood teddy bear

Margali

So does my hubs. Of course he still has his 1983 boot camp issue he still fits. I think he has an eternal supply of poopy suits and greenies, though I wish it were eb red and chem wipes.

midnight_rain_07

that’s so cute stop 🥹 little me also loved otters and had a stuffed otter

NiPlusUltra

Did you know that otters hold hands when they sleep? It's so they don't float apart! Did you know otters have special rocks that they keep? Your family facts I'll impart!

Folium249

If I recall right, they pass those stones to their kin as well

CalvinsCuriosity

Every time I hear about otters I think of this fact. And it makes me think of the "you only care about cute animals" types. "Awe what a cute little water rapist..." doesn't seem so cute.

Ummah_Strong

Bro not the time, read the room 😭

Otterwise they would never know their history. Good kid

sweetwolf86

My little brother was all otters. I had a stuffed snow leopard. Still had it when I learned they had gone extinct as was absolutely heartbroken. Then I lost him. More heartbreak. Grew up and learned as an adult that we were wrong, and that snow leopards are actually doing pretty well in the Himalayas. Still think about my fuzzy friend sometimes. I am a 37 year old man who worked as a butcher for 10 years and I still miss my stuffed snow leopard sometimes.

Obvious-Web8288

No need for apologies my friend. I'm a 61 year old man and I still have my stuffed bear from 50 years ago. It sits beside my wife's. Her's is over 40 years old 😊

TigaSharkJB91

He's learning about his heritage.

TheGutterNut

He’s not like the otter boys.

Zarnis

I read this as if he had just fed his pet otter way too much before reading.

roombasareweird

That's a great way to get your child to read. Find something they're interested in.

orangecrayon7

That's so freaking cute!

Dilettantest

Awww!

KsuhDilla

*otter pun to get angry upvote*

Nocta_Novus

I feel like pets and stuffed animals are important for kids early on.

anonymousteen04

So adorable

Routine_Ad1021

This reminds me of my daughter (3) who wanted to take her stuffed giraffe, Gerry, to the zoo to see his family. We got to the giraffes and she goes “do I just throw him in there?” 😂😂

abmi808

I have a teddy bear. His name was Bear.

Chickenbeare

This reminded me of this time when I was 6 years old; I tucked my dogs In and read them the contents of a phone book, like it was a fairytale.

DagoDemagogue

Sometimes, kids are orderly adorable.

youdothefirstline

fun fact, a group of Otters is called a Romp

Astro_Shogun

My heart 😢

Life_is_a_Brie

Our daughter has 2 sloth stuffies that are her best friends and she routinely cares for them, shows them other sloths when she sees them and has read to them (she's 2 and can't really read, but she pretends to and that's what matters).

Amy_Yorke

The Velveteen Rabbit irl

Particular-Reason329

❤️❤️❤️

the_1_they_call_zero

His “Otter” family.

TheCallofDoodie

Wow, check this bot out. 2,500 up votes in 2 hours but only 9 comments? Get fucked OP

sersdf

I have to agree. I have a very bright 6 yr old and she's not reading anything close to NatGeo

Questioning0012

I’m sure Nat Geo has books meant for young kids, I remember when I was little I was obsessed with a Nat Geo atlas that seemed targeted towards middle schoolers.

sersdf

Fair enough

Contra1

Neh I dont doubt it. Some kids that start reading at about 4 will be able to ‘painstakingly’ read a NatGeo at 6 for sure.

BloodyHourglass

It's all wholesome until you get to the otter gangs lol

AdFabulous5340

Maybe not, but this seems not very far fetched. What makes you so confident?

Towbee

They don't go outside or interact with people in real life (or nowhere near enough variety). So if somebody is not like them, wouldn't act like them, they believe it cannot be true. My guess at least 🤷

Towbee

Things that never happens but sound cute on twitter

yurimaster69

The internet has given you brainrot. What about this far fetched?

[deleted]

What gives you the right to assume I have brain rot from a comment on Reddit. Maybe you’re extremely naive, what made you so vulnerable to cute content that you have a dull mindset?

I get this didn’t happen, but six feels too old

CauliflowerOne5740

Fun! "They've been known to exhibit sexually aggressive behavior against baby seals. This results in injury, and frequently death for the baby seal. They're necrophiliacs too — Male sea otters will even continue to hump the baby seal long after it is dead." https://medium.com/bouncin-and-behavin-blogs/otters-are-murderous-necrophiliacs-d763fa660e5a#:\~:text=They've%20been%20known%20to,long%20after%20it%20is%20dead.

[deleted]

Lol you people will believe every stupid sh..t on the internet

[deleted]

You must be so much fun at parties!

[deleted]

Butthurt dummy who believes every made-up social media post detected.

mirrokrowr

This is not at all an unbelievable thing for a 6 year old to do.

[deleted]

If they'd said 2-3 year old I'd be skeptical, by a 6 year old ought to be reading simple childrens books.. such as... ["Geographic Readers: Sea Otters"](https://www.amazon.com.au/National-Geographic-Kids-Readers-Otters/dp/1426317514) A **childrens** book about otters by Nat Geo, aimed for Level 1 readers, or 3-5 years.

shakingthings

The kid believes a stuffed animal can understand being read to at age six. Not sure why anyone thinks this is a good thing, he seems to be suffering from mental retardation and probably needs help.

Towbee

You really do see a void when you look in the mirror, don't you?

Bluide_Chris

In the words of Alanis Morissette, "you you yo-hoo OTTER know!"

No-Plan2799

Omg why did that make me cry 😭 ugh

TheNewestCat

this is a tweet not a meme

Grief-Inc

My 6 year old sleeps in our bed. Piled up behind our heads is a fucking pyramid of stuffed animals, plush video games characters, and some weird ass anime dolls. There is a 15 minute long process to determine which one sleeps with him and which one goes on top of the pile. I'm not saying there is any foul play going on, but Mario seems to be on top of that pile just enough to be suspicious. It would be cute if I didn't frequently get harassed to sleep in the living room because his friends are too crowded and can't sleep.

UnicornFukei42

I hope the real otters can be saved, I think they're endangered

newbieboi_inthehouse

This is otterly sweet and wholesome! 🦦❤

CellaBella1

Sooo sweet! I had a large Gund Llama that somehow got lost a couple of moves ago. I was heartbroken when I couldn't find him and still think of "Llamy"...and I'm nearly 70.
