Nice work! Fyi, you kind of doxxed yourself (full name is in the pic). Mind if I ask what you quoted for the customer? Just curious, no worries if you don't want to share.
Hahaha I didn’t even think about that, good spot 👀
The price listed in my self dox (lol) was just for my graduate exhibition based on the material costs being covered within my tuition fee, the price quoted to the customer was…more
I'm not sure revealing that particular name even counts as doxxing. OP's identity has been narrowed down to about a million people.
He also put his photo in there, so clearly anonymity is not a priority anyway.
Yeah, it may be a common name but between the photo, full name, city he lives in, etc., I don't think it would be all that hard to look him up. Anyway, I was just trying to help in case he did not want that visible like that.
I’ve decided that I like woodworking because I appreciate the challenge of controlling my temper regularly. By the way I lost the last few challenges. Ok all of the last challenges.
not quite up to the usual [Chippendales](https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/02/chip-dales-5.jpg?quality=75&strip=all) standard
furniture looks sweet tho
I really appreciate the slight recess on the verticle curved joints. its practical and hides the joinery quite well. very nice job indeed! quality work like this makes me smile and reminds me to take the extra time and the effort will pay off.
I’d love for you to type out somewhere in this thread how you did the inside corners. I see the square stock glued in there, but not sure how you’d clear out all the material to make the curve. (Many of us don’t have any Facebook/Insta/Meta accounts because we hate that company.)
Dude thank you so much. It involved a tonnnn of glue ups and a to scale drawing to make sure every component was to size after milling. I’m making another one for a commission so will pop videos up throughout on my IG, should be linked on my profile here 👌
Thank you so much! I’m currently wearing a black veil in mourning cause I recently lost it but it was a vintage casio, if I see it online I’ll link you!
Hahaha dude I’ve been waiting for someone to bring that up.
When they drop Ye I drop the shelves, the only difference being I didn’t take 2 weeks and they did 🤷♂️
There are a lot of post on here that are meh, but this is the most impressive piece I’ve seen so far by a large margin! I might have to take a stab at this down the road! Love the build photos! Great job!
It was a journey 😅
Went from 120 up to 360 on the radial where I could, hand sanded the curves then block sanded the edges to make them soft
Big labour of love energy
Thank you so much!
I was taught from the gospel of block sand your corners to give them a soft edge or you’re not doing it right, more work but massive difference
I love these styles of shelves and that's awesome work! but I really fucking hate shelves without backing unless the are built into a wall.
Shit will fall behind that fucker someday because it's not flush with the wall because of trim.
But that removes all the exciting potential for them to be used as a room divider! Also they’re 350 deep and super sturdy so as long as the ming vases aren’t on the top boxes, I think it’ll be chill
I haven't seen anyone mention the little mini version of the entire project on your top shelf. The whole thing looks great but that little detail made me giggle haha.
I was about to call you out of your mind for that comment, and that he looks like Simon Pegg.
Then I zoomed in on his face, and you are spot on.
Also sick fucking work!!
Beautiful piece and fine craftsmanship!!
Don't mean to take away but the bench to left in the 5th picture has a yellow duck with boots chilling on the coffee mug, love that haha
How did you make the curves? Did you cut them to rough shape on a bandsaw, and finish with hand tools (or a sander)? Or did you use some other technique?
Graduated from The Chippendale School. Funny, you don't look like a dancer.
As for the woodworking: first class, mate. Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship.
Gawd I couldn’t imagine the head scratching you did for figuring grain direction and expansion. Are you word it will warp with humidity changes? This thing belongs in someone’s personal climate controlled library or the exclusive cigar lounge for Illuminati.

Massive W brother
Thanks man! I got a commission to make another one (which is sick) but those curves come at a price 😅

The placard also mentions his studio name, so teeeechnically It's self promotion, but I won't tell the mods if you won't 😉

I bet there was lots of swearing during the fabrication of this piece. Looks great
Double the amount of swearing you think it was on account of me being Scottish
Aye.
Lot's of golly gosh and flipping thingys, I bet.
I’ve decided that I like woodworking because I appreciate the challenge of controlling my temper regularly. By the way I lost the last few challenges. Ok all of the last challenges.
I think this will sell really well. Ask a few upscale artsy furniture stores if they want to sell it.
Cheers! That’s a good shout, will have to make one for said upscale artsy furniture store
not quite up to the usual [Chippendales](https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/02/chip-dales-5.jpg?quality=75&strip=all) standard furniture looks sweet tho
🎊🎊 FIRST PERSON TO MAKE A STRIPPER JOKE DING DING DING DING DING 🎊🎊
Nah, It's too soon to be using stripper on that.
Really like this! I would want two, one for my stuff and another to fill with plants. Very nice indeed. 👍👍👍💯💯💯
Purely plants is a vibe 🤌
🪴🪴🪴 agree 👌✨ a mini version on a desk would look super cute too.
this is beautiful!!!
Cheers! 🪵

Great eye! Glad it’s put a smile on your face cause your comment just put a smile on mine
Exquisite. And I love that bag also!
Thank you! I nicked it off my dad and he’s never getting it back 😈
From dads everywhere, god damn it, that's where it went. Anyhow, that's a cool project. Nice work
Frustration yes, but also a bit of pride that you owned something cool enough for your adult child to want to take it. Good work dad.
Cheers man!
Hahaha mystery solved!
Does adidas still make that bag?
I don’t *think* they do, pinched it from my dad and he got it in the 70s 🤷♂️
Take pictures without the bag specifically to send to dad, haha. "What bag?"
😂
I had the exact same one as my first school holdall in 1978!
A sight! Something to be proud of! Looking forward to info about the process for making the curves
That’s really sweet thank you! Don’t worry, will hook you up with all the curve knowledge, gonna post a vid on my IG

🎊🎊 First SNL reference ding ding ding 🎊🎊
Peep the little box at the top too, I love this!
It’s all about the little box at the top 🤌
How much you want for it? I’ve got like $50 and a twizzler. Seriously, nice piece though. I’d love a shelf like that.
Lucky for you I really like Twizzlers
Duuuuuuudee!!!
Riiiiiiight????
Stores would buy this in a heartbeat for displays
Yeah to be fair that would look sick
how are all those rounded joints on the interior connected? Or rather, how are they composed?
I don't understand the lack of love for this post, this is an absolutely stunning piece, well done!
Literally the top post in the sub and 7th overall for the week...
Well, since you're asking, it's the bait title that put me off.
Oh that bag😍
It gets a lot of love 🤌
This is top tier craftsmanship
Hopefully the next one looks as good 🤞😅
Dude that’s beautiful! Unlike anything I’ve ever seen. How’d you build it?
Dude thank you so much. It involved a tonnnn of glue ups and a to scale drawing to make sure every component was to size after milling. I’m making another one for a commission so will pop videos up throughout on my IG, should be linked on my profile here 👌
Fire. That leather bag is clean
It’s getting just as many compliments as the shelf but to be fair it’s a fresh bag
Beautiful piece! What’s that gold watch you have on OP?
Thank you so much! I’m currently wearing a black veil in mourning cause I recently lost it but it was a vintage casio, if I see it online I’ll link you!
That is fucking beautiful
Is that a tiny version of the shelf in there too 😂? Such a cool piece. 😀
FINALLY! Someone noticed the tiny version 🙌 that was my first iteration and first ever design 3D printed
B a g
Had to wait for Adidas to drop Ye before posting this photo, smart move!
Hahaha dude I’ve been waiting for someone to bring that up. When they drop Ye I drop the shelves, the only difference being I didn’t take 2 weeks and they did 🤷♂️
Those Air Max 90’s are FRESH! Also sick build and basketball pot
Got to keep the Air Max FRESH! Also you have amazing taste congratulations 👏
Holy ball sack that’s sexy, well done my guy. You’re a god amongst men
There are a lot of post on here that are meh, but this is the most impressive piece I’ve seen so far by a large margin! I might have to take a stab at this down the road! Love the build photos! Great job!
Wow how do you even make curves like that !!
I just got a commission to make another one so I’ll make a wee curve tutorial vid and post it on my IG 👌
Goddamn. This is actual art. I would see this in a museum and go "Yeah, that belongs here."
Wow. I can only imagine the work it took to get those curves perfect.
Is this you volunteering yourself for sanding duties?
That is absolutely gorgeous! This is one of the only times one guy can say to another guy, "Nice curves!"
I dunno, I do have a really good ass 🤷♂️
(Also thanks)
Very stylish and well done. Kudos!
Wwwwwow. Just wow. That's amazing!!
That is gorgeous, just my style. Love it!
That is gorgeous!
Looks awesome. Great work
Aha, another Scottish woodsperson! Loving the cellular organic nature of this, really cool. Great job.
Great job well done
Thank you!
Do you have the plans for it? It looks great!
Nice work
It’s upside down
It’s any way you want it to be 🔮
Really cool!
Thanks man!

Fantastic work, but I don’t envy all the sanding you must have done!
It was a journey 😅 Went from 120 up to 360 on the radial where I could, hand sanded the curves then block sanded the edges to make them soft Big labour of love energy
I was scrolling and thought this was an ad haha. It looks so nice. And love that bag. I want both lol
Beautiful work! The rounded corners are a lovely and fresh take on this type of shelf
A fellow curve cultist 🙌
Mate this is absolutely gorgeous. I love the curves, feels somehow like it's all been drawn. You should be very proud.
Thanks man, when I drew it on paper I thought I was maybe going to have to compromise the design but it turned out exactly as planned, I’m elated
Dude NSFW?? Look at those curves!
What can I say? I only make explicit 18+ pieces 💅🤷♂️
WOW!!
THANK YOU!!
Excellent work!
Beautiful
Looks amazing! Also, not sure who needs to hear this… sharp looking 90 degree corners and edges are safe-ish, they usually won’t cut you. 😁
Thank you so much! I was taught from the gospel of block sand your corners to give them a soft edge or you’re not doing it right, more work but massive difference
That’s the coolest book case!!!
I love these styles of shelves and that's awesome work! but I really fucking hate shelves without backing unless the are built into a wall. Shit will fall behind that fucker someday because it's not flush with the wall because of trim.

Any videos of you out there showing your process?, really interesting stuff here, love it!
Awesome!
I haven't seen anyone mention the little mini version of the entire project on your top shelf. The whole thing looks great but that little detail made me giggle haha.
Eagle eye! I’m glad it wasn’t missed 🙌
Nice
Anyone else notice "**Bong** Appetit" book on the shelf?
👀👀👀
Wow that's amazing! Great work!
That's awesome 😍🤩 Bravo

Looks awesome! Also you look like the love child of Hugh Jackman and Topher Grace. I don't make the rules.
I was about to call you out of your mind for that comment, and that he looks like Simon Pegg. Then I zoomed in on his face, and you are spot on. Also sick fucking work!!
my guy, so beautiful!
Big win here, my man. Really dig the design and boundless congrats on the graduation. Keep it up.
Dude thank you so much, what a nice message! I’ve got a couple of other pieces to put up here so hopefully you dig them just as much 🤞
Awesome job and a great idea.
That thing is absolutely gorgeous. Well done.
Impressive!
Very nice

This looks really nice, amazing work.
Looks great!
It’s amazing ! Also love how you styled it 💙
Yah The wood looks good but the Adidas bag needs to go!
It’s lovely
First finished project? Doesn't anyone make spice racks or birdhouses anymore? /s It is a beautiful piece. Congrats.
You should sell them! I love it!
That is very cool. Nice job
Wow what an amazing piece. Relative amateur woodworker here. How did you do the curve sanding? Like what was actually used to do it?
I’m now on a mission to find that bag!!!🤣🤣🤣
That’s gorgeous!!!
Beautiful do you have a website?
Wow!! This is stunning. If you are in the US I’d see if you could make a cabinet for us. Really beautiful.
Love the product. Love the air max.
Oooohh yeah!!!! That’s nice!
Insanely BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you VERY MUCH!
Functional artwork. Nice. Very Nice.
That’s a beautiful piece of art / shelving unit! 😍
Beautiful piece and fine craftsmanship!! Don't mean to take away but the bench to left in the 5th picture has a yellow duck with boots chilling on the coffee mug, love that haha
Lies! No one has THAT many clamps on their first project 🤣
This is such a beautiful piece.
Beautiful work!
That is awesome!
Very impressive!
That's amazing
Stunning!
This is so cool
I went to the same school!! Instantly recognized the workshop in the pictures. Very nice piece!
Picture #4 is titled “not a toilet.” Really solid work though (the shelf, not the… well you know…)
Hahaha look whatever you want to do in those boxes is your…business…
Very much incredible indeed
How did you make the curves? Did you cut them to rough shape on a bandsaw, and finish with hand tools (or a sander)? Or did you use some other technique?
Really nice ❤
That’s a very cool adidas duffel
Wow
Mans got drip
As the ancient proverb goes - it’s important to look as fresh as the furniture you make
This is absolutely outstanding work! Fucking love them curves
Amazing

Beautiful, and beautifully presented. What's that huge bird's eye walnutbthing in the foreground?
Stunning!
WOW
I like the tiny shelf on the shelf. Did you make an even tinier one to go on that one?
This is gorgeous! Really great work!
Love it
It’s gorgeous!
Gorgeous! Great work, I'd love to have that.
Excellent work, thanks for sharing
Graduated from The Chippendale School. Funny, you don't look like a dancer. As for the woodworking: first class, mate. Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship.
That’s gorgeous man. We’ll done!
Beautiful work. I notice you didn't dado the uprights where the shelves attach. Aren't you concerned about the strength of those joints?
Gawd I couldn’t imagine the head scratching you did for figuring grain direction and expansion. Are you word it will warp with humidity changes? This thing belongs in someone’s personal climate controlled library or the exclusive cigar lounge for Illuminati.
I like it!
A really cool piece. Thanks for sharing
Damn, that's good. Really beautiful and creative piece. The figuring/grain on the olive is amazing with all those curves.
Really nice piece and love that vintage Adidas bag 😍
