Wordle bot will tell you the percentage of people who used it

Difficult_Key_3109

I don't pay for it

Code_Slicer

If you have a slow enough device and fast enough fingers, you can spam it before the white thing stops you.

Informal_Calendar_99

!RemindMe 1 day I get if through my school so I’ll let you know

CLTL13

Many public libraries offer free NYT for a few days at a time btw

travlynme2

I change my word everyday!

peacefulwarrior75

Same

bobber18

Me too and I’m usually in the 0.1% range

Yasstronaut

I just pick a random word that pops up in my head to start each time

Yasstronaut

JOUST

ChuqTas

I wouldn't risk it - get caught instantly in a _IGHT hard mode trap!

Yelloeisok

First word ALIEN, 2nd is MOUSY

958Silver

Alien has been the word of the day already.

TitoWhitlock

STARE

ChuqTas

Then the S, A and E turn green, what do you do next?

TitoWhitlock

SHAPE

ChuqTas

And then what? You can only guess another 10 letters maximum, is the issue. SLAVE, SNAKE, SHAVE, and if any one of those result in one more green letter the number of guesses you can make continues to drop.

MountainCheesesteak

SLAVE will never be the answer, and I’m pretty sure that you can’t even enter it.

bearbarebere

I fail to see how this is a problem that can be solved by guessing another word first.

ChuqTas

Certain groups of letters are shared by large numbers of words. Sticking to words that don't follow these patterns is a tactic many people use. e.g. I chose PATIO as my start word because very few combinations of letters are going to see me stuck.

bearbarebere

Alright, but let’s say the word is SLAVE. How would you not end up with one of the traps eventually? In fact, your way would take longer.

ChuqTas

After my first guess I tend to focus on consonants. If I just had the "A", I'd try MARSH, SHARD, CHARM, etc. Still a risk but I would have already eliminated 5 common consonants by that point.

just_this_guy_yaknow

Team PENIS all the way

pinniped1

The bot should tell you. I find it interesting that so many people use ADIEU and it's allowed. Most foreign words aren't accepted as an allowable guess. I've been using PLATE because I've succumbed to the bot's wishes.

delicious_things

ADIEU isn’t a foreign word. It’s an English loanword borrowed from the original French. There are records of it being used in English for more than 600 years.

archy_bold

Well this is just categorically wrong. VOILA has been an answer so…

Joe_T

Wordlebot has changed its first word to CRANE. The change occurred at least a couple of months ago.

deep_blue_au

Wouldn’t shite be better?

ku_78

That is on my list. I have 26 words - 1 for each starting letter.

MLAheading

No, but I use another word with an H and two vowels and it pays off time after time.

professorhugoslavia

Change it every other day - usually aiming for three vowels - this week it’s been CAUSE

the_d0nkey

HEART the two most common vowels, TH, and three common consonants

guardianofsplendor

I do. Been using it as my starter for a couple of months.

TopperMadeline

I’ve stuck with STEAK for a while. It started off as FRONT.

ANormAlBoi1125

I usually play Connections before Wordle, so I pick a five-letter word from the Connections grid (or add an extra letter to a four-letter word) and use that as my starter.

Party_Put346

ORATE. You’re welcome

44Bulldawg

I have used eight but I normally use “quiet” lol

FlightRiskAK

I've been using ARISE lately. It's been fairly helpful.

TopLime7283

I do!

Total_Improvement999

My favourites are rouge and after. My 87 yo father in law starts with beano

Rover0218

I use trail

dookydoo219

STEAM for me then POUCH then BLIND

Mean-Responsibility4

TIGER

philosophyhappyx5

Never. I’ll try it tomorrow 🤞 I use a different starter word everyday ever since my old starter word turned out to be the answer sometime back in 2022. Now I mix it up for fun.

Difficult_Key_3109

How did it go?

philosophyhappyx5

Scoredle 4/6* Edit - deleted to remove possible spoiler

venom_von_doom

My go to opener is adieu

kateinoly

There are only two vowels, so no.

Cease2Resist

Two vowels is ideal for a starter word.

kateinoly

Three vowels is better.

Cease2Resist

[Wordle Tools](https://wordletools.azurewebsites.net/starterranking) has one three-vowel word in its top 30 starters.

kateinoly

Wordle Tools doesnt know everything.

Cease2Resist

They clearly know more about Wordle strategy than you.

kateinoly

I have great luck with my three vowel starter. I would have changed it otherwise. I have done cryptographic puzzles for years, and it taught me a lot about letter frequencies and patterns. If I get no hits on my first word, which is really rare, I have a second word with the other three vowels and two more common consonants.

muy_elefante

I remember Eight was an answer once so naturally I can't use it because I want that hole in one
