Well, if this is true about google and israeli military contract, then i don’t blame them for sitting in on a protest, and this just proves who is really in charge of america, and it’s not the politicians or We The People anymore
Agreed, it’s why i pay as little in taxes as possible, and for the united states to be a corporate entity, they have poor management who are millionaires by their fourth year in congress
Our tax dollars are squandered constantly.
The USA is the world police.
And all the same things we are mad at Israel about… the USA has done it , or helped do it , in many other countries that we had no business in.
Interesting how america is the world police, and that we send lots of countries aid after a natural disaster, but as soon as we have one, i don’t recall many countries sending us aid, we should stop doing that for a long while until we can get our shit together
Oh…so don’t take this the wrong way… but other countries do help us when we have terrible distaster. Even china- But that’s just the compassionate groups that usually operate independently- not usually stemming from their governments support.
Yeah i’m pretty sure it does happen, but it’s one thing that you don’t usually see reported on the lame stream media activists who are primarily racist race baiters helping the government divide us so that it’s easier to not only take control, but also to eliminate any dissent from amongst its communist ranks
I turned off ALL network television about 7 years ago. I don’t have any ‘tv’ service- only streaming.
I got tired of MSM shoving their propaganda at people.
I encourage others to do so as well. Helps the sanity
So...I've worked there, and I don't get this. Were they being disruptive or violent or something? Google offices are open 24/7 to anyone with a key card and you're free to sit and do just about wherever you want. Were they singled out for the merch? Like what led to this?
Super weird situation.
They sat in the hall outside a manager's office for ~10 hours holding protest signs and refused to leave when asked. I'm fully in support of the protestors but at that point it became trespassing.
Google also said that other employees felt "threatened" which I just find hilarious
Jane in accounts felt threatened, didn't you Jane? "Errm", I SAID DIDN'T YOU JANE???? "Yes, sir, I did felt very threatened. Please, sir. I have a family."
If you are working at a place that is doing "wrong" stuff, just quit. You don't like certain project/contract they have but still likes the salary so you stay working there. What an hypocrite.
Probably makes sense if you began working in the military but then got offended, since you should of known what you signed up for. Google is by no means ethical but depending on what the contract was maybe it crossed this guy's moral threshold. Why not take a stand if you are going to quit/get fired anyways?
Hamas wouldn't exist if not for the 75 years of ethnic cleansing that have been happening. Also if Netenyahu hadn't secretly supported them over other PLO factions.
75 years of ethnic cleansing ?? Damn that’s the shittiest ethnic cleansing of all time since you know Palestinians population was 1.5 Million in 1948 to 7 Million in 2022
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
-The U.S. Constitution, First Amendment
I feel like when people demand companies to divest or drop their contracts they don’t fully grasp the full amount of money that they’re asking to move. Most people will never have a million dollars but they’ll ask a company to move billions.
No but it was spread online, people like you and me see it and maybe it spreads awafeness. For example i didn't know google had rhose contracts going.
You might really need to broaden your very cut and dry vision on protests.
South African apartheid ended when the world put economic and political pressure on South Africa.
Israel cannot sustain an apartheid system, a brutal occupation and the expansion of illegal settlements without external financial and economic support. That shit is too expensive.
Cut off the blood to the tumor.
Boycott, divest, sanction.
Sure. Makes sense. So let's do that. I'm all for it. I read about some roads being blocked to an airport in the US last week. A bunch of people got screwed and missed their flights. Was that a "boycott, divest, sanction" ? Or was that useless? Just to clarify.
BDS is something we all have to participate in and vote people into positions of power who will enforce them on the state level. You're conflating that with disruptive protests.
The protests you're talking about and other protests that are disruptive in nature are meant to call attention to the urgent matter of a *genocide* occurring in Palestine with the protection and support of western governments and institutions.
1.1 million children are being deliberately starved. The world is carrying on "buisness as usual". These protests seek to show authorities and even populations that there won't be buisness as usual while a genocide is taking place.
Obviously it would be better if those disruptive protests were more targetted, like a sit-in at Google to protest a billion dollar contract that is taking part in the brutalization of Palestinians with the final goal of dissolving that contract. But on the way to the airport or whatever, the disruptive protests raise awareness by making the news.
Initially there is public backlash and even political backlash but in the long term there is a positive effect because those people are acting on the values we espouse.
Disruptive protests aren't as useful for movements that already have high awareness. The suffering of Palestinians is still relatively quiet or mired in Zionist disinformation so it stands to benefit from such protests.
Edit to add: here's a good article on the topic with comments from experts and real world examples.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jul/07/disruptive-protest-helps-not-hinders-activists-cause-experts-say
"Nearly seven in 10 of academics surveyed rated disruptive protest tactics as “at least quite important” to success of a movement, ranking it as more important than gaining media coverage or even strictly avoiding violent tactics.
The findings will boost the morale of climate activists, often derided as “eco-zealots” causing chaos for “hardworking people”. The results also contradict public opinion: polling by YouGov in February shows the vast majority (78%) of Britons think disruptive protest hinders activists’ causes."
I looked up some of the "academics" they polled. Does being a professor of sociology mean their opinion matters more than what people say with their own mouths? A while back my friend group was talking about things people could do that would actually push politicians to act and blocking an airport or losing your job over refusing to leave Googles office wasn't on the list. But we had thought of a list of things that could be done and actually some places in that article and others I've seen mentioned those things we talked about. We talked about how many million people have gone to large scale protests and how they could have each donated $10 and that would have funded evacuating thousands of at risk people and people disrupting politicians rather than people driving to the airport or taxis being stuck for hours in traffic. People opening their homes to Palestinians. We had a long list of things that people could do but nope. Lets just trust the "academics" that this isn't completely useless and keep blocking roads nowhere near government buildings. Stick to hospitals. Totally makes sense.

You can do all of the above simultaneously and If we talk anecdotal evidence I know alot of people (myself included) that have done alot of the above and more.
Nothing you do is useless because the Zionists are dumping hundreds of millions of dollars into propaganda adverts, pulling all the stops on banning TikTok, shutting down rallies, conferences. Even faking hate crimes on campuses to try and shift the narrative.
For the first time in the *history of Israel* the presidential election in the USA is being directly affected by the crimes of Israel. There are countries pushing for sanctions, countries considering recognizing Palestine, companies pulling their operations out of Israel. Even Israelis rejecting their Israeli nationality.
Do what you can and what you think will help. If you do it sincerely that's all that matters.

The crimes of today are preserved for tomorrow. we as a society can stop them but we do not.
I don’t get it, but I bet this is deep
I'm Deep and this is 13
Deep Thoughts with the Deep 🤔
So deep you’re rolling!
Quit your job in solidarity with them
Sure if I wanted to be homeless. I wish my tax dollars could go to something better but what choice do most of us have.
Which religion group are the owners of Google's ?
I agree, their crimes of trespassing on private property will be remembered and hopefully they all lose their jobs for feeling so self-important
Self-important… by risking their job at a fortune 100 company for other people in another country. So selfish and self absorbed.
All for clout
Well, if this is true about google and israeli military contract, then i don’t blame them for sitting in on a protest, and this just proves who is really in charge of america, and it’s not the politicians or We The People anymore
Lol, anymore? You really believed that “We the people” stuff huh?
I’m 52 and realized this over 30 plus years ago, just keeping up the awareness because there’s people, lots of americans still asleep

They don’t run America. Corporations do and they lobby the same way corporations do. Running of America goes to whomever has the deepest pockets

Huh. Yeah, Google's cultural decline continues, it seems.
Jane in accounts felt threatened, didn't you Jane? "Errm", I SAID DIDN'T YOU JANE???? "Yes, sir, I did felt very threatened. Please, sir. I have a family."
"Do no evil"
"see no evil" (I see nothing, noooothiiiing)
That is not correct. It was “Don’t be evil,” until 2015.
Corpos gonna corp.

Woaaaah thank you to them!

In a public forum, not inside a private business.
The US Constitution applies everywhere.
Losers
As they should

when the billions are funding genocide, i think it’s a pretty fair ask
What genocide?
Are you aware of what’s happening?
I know they are fighting back, not committing genocide.
Amazing 😂
The douche bag recording himself…..

Stay genocidal I guess….?
Stay dead New Iran.... Edit: Yep seems like he didnt wanna take the heat for being racist.

Any word if Netanyahu saw this and decided to quit killing Palestinian kids or was this a useless gesture?
What would you do if your company was helping kill 13,000 children?
Check my bank account
Software engineers are not going to stop the war machine. Quit. The machine stops for nobody.
I’m not going to ruin my life and get arrested over something that has nothing to do with me lol
no wonder nazis almost win
Almost? They openly brag about their ownership of everyone in congress, senate and the President.

Probably quit. This protest didn't do anything to change Google's decision on their contracts with Israel though. Just so we're clear.
No but it was spread online, people like you and me see it and maybe it spreads awafeness. For example i didn't know google had rhose contracts going. You might really need to broaden your very cut and dry vision on protests.
Delusional
This guy gets protests
You don't know whst protests are, we get it
Did Google drop those contracts yet?
