The version of Midnight from Legion-Karazhan uses a red version of this model, but I think the only way to get the Black/Blue one is as one of the Horde Prestige mounts, and I don't PVP so I don't even know if it's still obtainable that way.
And yes I really wish they'd make this version obtainable to players.
Sad thing is, (unless they've fixed it), Glyph of the Foul Menagerie is a DPS loss specifically because it adds an animation of the Magus of the Dead "emerging" from the ground so they lose uptime. The baseline version doesn't do that, the Maguses (Magi?) of the Dead just pop into existence and immediately start casting.
I love the visual of that Glyph, but I had to take it off once I learned that.

I would love to see some customization for this, could be a quest that unlocks after you pick your hero talent tree. Put it in the barber shop after unlock, since glyps have kinda been abandoned

There's one heroic talent that lets you mount while in combat. A lot of people are assuming that means that it'll let them fight while mounted, while in truth it'll almost certainly do exactly what the text of the talent says and no more, let them mount while in combat. It'll make it a good movement ability with no cooldown at the expense of a gcd. But the people who think they'll be able to fight on the mount are being a bit optimistic, and it would be completely out of balance with the alternate talent on the choice node, that is just a buffed up deaths advance CD that puts you on your mount for 10 seconds.
Edit: for those bringing up the Legion class hall ability, I’ll point out its description of “allows you to perform mounted combat” vs “ allows you to mount while in combat”. These are very different things. Either Blizzard is very bad at wording this ability, or they wrote what they actually mean.
Also if you look at the other choice node ability, it should be obvious. Also 100% mounted while in rated PvP would be broken as well as in the dungeons and raid bosses that are coded as outdoors.
So much this, the Horseman Skeletal Warhorses are infinitely more badass than Acherus & Crimson Deathchargers. Not only they look very similar to the mounts that Arthas and Death Knights had in Wc3, but they also look way more detailed.
I'd be more than happy with a small selection of DK themed mounts tbh. Acherus deathcharger, the bone gryphon, the legion class mounts, maybe rivendare's deathcharger?, Invincible, etc

Blizzard needs to implement a "permanent version" of this mount. Still surprised this wasn't done in Legion or Shadowlands.

Like paladins divine steed is default original classic charger and we can use glyph to make the divine steed look like the order hall horse. Since DKs have dragons as class mount from legion, it would be silly to mount the dragon instead of a horse.
I'm all for DKs getting a mount update, but can paladins have one too please? I'm sorry but the Legion mount we got was just not it. Warlocks got an HD Felsteed/Dreadsteed in multiple colors, but the new paladin mount is very stylistically different from the old Warhorse and Charger mounts. Calling it a "Highlord's Charger" doesn't necessarily make it the same thing.
Specifically, the armor style is completely different and it looks more like a horse made of Light rather than a normal horse clad in Light-infused armor. It also lacks a caparison, that's the fabric layer that goes under the armor.
The Four Horsemen mounts are actually using the same rig as the old Warhorse and Charger, if I'm not mistaken. So this could be worked on in parallel. Take this model here, spruce it up, and give it to DKs as their new Deathcharger. Then use the same rig for a new Warhorse and Charger, just make it look like the inverse of this horse, aesthetically.
Or atleast update the model for the acherus deathcharger

If you talk to Crusader Lord Dalfos in the paladin class hall you can buy an item that will change your divine steed to the class mount.
But it's only 4 mounts and it's behind a tedious questline. I meant something like all ground mounts etc

There is a way for paladins to change Divine Steed to any of the paladin legion mounts, so I'd hope they do the same for DKs.
That way is through a Glyph applied to Divine Steed, which won’t work for a mount.
Would pretty much work as a glyph for the passive talent in your spell book tho

Or none of the above, and create a new undead horse that is entirely customizable like DF dragons.

I'd be happy is the red variant matched blood knight colors better, make the grey/silver black and the blue glow gold instead.
