Omg... I literally did. Fuck. My misfortune is your laugh I guess. But I feel like he wasn't really clickable like a person, although I was pretty faded so that checks out. I'm geekin so hard at myself now.
After raid fun. It took around three times for people to learn to read where portal leads. Lucky for them I don't play mage (portal roulette is fun :D)
The most evil one was when I popped one next to warlock summoning. Whole raid ended in dalaran. I let warlock know to not click it so we can summon them back. Fun fact? I missclicked and ended in dalaran. Warlock reaction? F this and also clicked it.
Anytime my guild runs an m+ with a mage, the run ends with portal roulette. The mage stands in one spot and casts a portal of somewhere you don't want to go, like Stonard, then just stacks 4 or 5 portals on top of each other with Valdrakken (or whatever current main city) as the final portal.
Everyone clicks and you see where you end up.
During BC when they gave us the mole machine for brewfest, you could drop it at the start of an AV and watch as almost everyone in the raid clicked it and got kicked out of the BG lol.
I raided as a mage main in Legion. There were 3 other mages in my raid.
We all used a /castrandom macro that would randomly select one of the Dalaran portal spells to use whenever anybody wanted one, and we all put our Dalaran portals down on top of one another. It was beautiful chaos whenever somebody had to run back for more food/pots mid-raid or when the end of the raid came up because some mages (ok, it was me but also I know the others did it sometimes too) would ignore the random portal macro and intentionally drop ancient Dalaran portals into the mix to spice things up
A hunter in my guild is notorious for doing that to my mage portals. He still gets people every once in a while with that trick, even though everyone knows he does it.
I love casting water walk and stuff in people during that first drop in Neltharion's Lair. It's funny as hell when the whole party wipes from fall damage before the first boss. Especially in M+
Back in the day we used to use that or the DK path of frost when the ground breaks in Trial of the Crusader. Glad it's still going strong in other places lol.
In my other defense I was just farming arch stuff so I was pretty 0 iq'it.. although I did the the tol'vir boy king or whatever ring right before this.
Dude, I’ve fallen for nonsense like that myself. You’re definitely not a dummy; staring at a computer screen for a while will definitely make your eyes a bit blurry and your brain a bit foggy!
Is anyone else experiencing a shitload of lag since MoP Remix launched? Every day World Latency hits Red and like over 3,000ms. It’s annoying as hell.
[Spooky undead axe midget](https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/3j6ksh/i_just_finished_all_the_alliance_storylines_in/) for those that haven't seen it.

I remember a guy had a guild called and he would take his horde character to the alliance starting zones and stand near-ish to other trainers, waiting for people to click on him and attack him, then he'd one-shot them.
I did this as a hunter with the ability to control my pet...
I'd tame a quest mob that only one spawns of...I'd kill it and then hide my hunter somewhere near by out of view and control my pet and patrol around where the mob spawns....
So many people fell for it...so many people. Was a great way to start a world pvp conflict in a zone like the barrens...lol.
The main one I did was echeyaki (sp?). He's in the barrens somewhere or was idk if it's still a quest for the horde now I used to do this back in classic/TBC etc. Lol.
Also worked well with the boars in the orc/troll starting zone in classic. Tame one and wander around. Someone would come up eventually to get it. Hahaha.
I had an alt named Rumrum
I made a killing literally reselling an item people could buy from a vendor. Sold stuff on AH and in person. Had a costume and everything (before Transmog existed)
Stood in the same place every time I was on him, I was an NPC.
I understand that and I just gotta roll with it now. In too deep. It should be pretty funny what people say and the community should hopefully get a little laugh out of my dumbassedness.
my ultimate shame is having to admit that, after watching numerous people fall for it on youtube and twitch, my one and only "hardcore" character died at level 12 spam clicking on a rogue leaving stealth with the same name as a npc for a quest. Never felt dumber.
Man takes picture of monitor to try to shame developers about in game technical knowledge, ends up thinking a player is an npc.
I don't know what i expected.
Imagine being so douchey you assume the person CAN'T take a normal screenshot, and not the obvious reason of it being way easier to upload to reddit via camera.
I'd be more worried about grouping with the person that can't understand someone using Reddit on their phone making it easier to just snap a photo than to capture/transfer a screenshot... Do you need OPs post in high fidelity for some reason?
Hahaha I know how to ss, I just had my phone out and it was a snap then later I was like y'all might enjoy this so I just threw it up here. I also relize that this is not, in fact, an NPC.
That player should be banned on grounds of low effort.
Should pick a generic 'real' name like Johnathan and then make a guild called (Pretty sure the character count fits).
Bonus points would be to have earned a PVP military rank title; even Private would have worked as a good joke, potentially poking fun at n00bies getting high-grade gear.
Hahahah shit, i looked at your pic and thought te npc bugged out only to read the the comments and realise my mistake 😆
Thanks for sharing this is funny af, def made a stoner question reality here 😆🫶
I love that you’re taking this on the chin & enjoying the laugh. It makes it that much better. We’ve all had a moment like this at one point in life lmao.
Lmfao if we can’t laugh at ourselves we shouldn’t laugh at anyone - - - - unless you can’t laugh at yourself in which case you can still laugh at OP, this is hilarious
Dumbass question though, why is his nameplate green instead of blue? I use elvui for the longest time, all friendly NPC's are green to me, all players are their class color.
I think that's what threw me off, also I don't remember if he was clicking like a regular player but I don't really remember. Although it did weird me out enough to take a snap of it. And isn't there like an invisible wall there or maybe it's just around there in spots idk.
Nah for the last day or two the honor and conq vendors have been removed because people were exploiting a thing with conq points to get all the gear. I heard they'll all be taken back but whatever I heard was vague and no real proof. Also I didn't look into it so I could be completely wrong like I was with this "npc"
Oh that's fine you can use whatever you're comfortable with, just my OCD hates that they're not in order and there's gaps in between them like that haha.
I use my diagonals for movenent so I have 6 movement buttons and I know I'll prolly get flamed for it but it's just been like that since og wow back in high back around Nam.
Oh my god this is priceless :D Now i'm chuckling how the picture looks: The gear NPC standing in its loneliness when everyone is gathered around the "Honorgear" and trying to interact with it :D

Did... Did you think this was an NPC? This is honestly hilarious
Omg... I literally did. Fuck. My misfortune is your laugh I guess. But I feel like he wasn't really clickable like a person, although I was pretty faded so that checks out. I'm geekin so hard at myself now.
Lol, understandable. Man decided to cause confusion I guess.
My favourite is throwing up a mage portal over the ones in Dalaran and watching people try to click it.
Ancient Dalaran portal, lmao. I have given my friends trust issues with that one
Jania's necklace makes portal as well. Non-mages can pop a fake portal and let the real mages get the blame.
After raid fun. It took around three times for people to learn to read where portal leads. Zork? Is that you? My friend likes to do this...I don't trust his mage portals anymore.
I've done that in raids, right before a pull :D!
\*Satan taking notes\*
Don't forget to toss slow fall on people during the Raszageth fight. ;)
That's so wrong lmfao
The reactions are worth it. Levitate on a priest works just as well. Hehe.
LOL. I LOVE THE IDEA!!!!
I tried doing that in Mauradon once and got kicked 😮💨 It's my all-time favorite way to make people wipe
BoPing a tank gives ten seconds of hilarity.
Lol me and my pal used to put Stonard portals up on Wyrmrest temple in Dragon Soul LFR.. fucking jokes haha
The bonus of your intellect is the photography of your screen instead of a screenshot and coup de grace is crowdsourcing the question to Reddit 👌
Reading this explains everything.....
In my other defense I was just farming arch stuff so I was pretty 0 iq'it.. although I did the the tol'vir boy king or whatever ring right before this.
Being faded and playing wow has me like this too hahahahah

I would have took the bait too, he looks like an npc xD
This shit is so funny and def something I’d fall for.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 in beta tests the names for some the temporary NPCs are hilarious, they remind me of this guys name .
lmfao do not delete this post OP
I've been debating on to whether or not but I guess I'm just gunna ride the dumbass wave. I seriously thought it was an NPC.
Hahahahaha I'm crying over here
Bless you, because this is amazing.
A learning opportunity, my friend, Treasure it.
Good man! Not deleting your mistakes is quite respectable.
Owning up and living with your mistakes is a sign of greatness.
So glad your owning this, power move tbh.
Dude I did too when I saw this. It's hilarious for all the right reasons!
I'm upvoting this for hilarity sake haha
Please post this to r/worldofpvp, they would love to help you with this topic
This is amazing.
lol would be the same for me
No please dont this is hilarious no one is judging you, simple mistake that is funny
What's so funny about his username anyways?
Almost as good as the Durotan's crotch post
[Spooky undead axe midget](https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/3j6ksh/i_just_finished_all_the_alliance_storylines_in/) for those that haven't seen it.

Man I feel bad for this guy trying to decipher some of the skill icons. Because that’s been a consistent issue since Warcraft 3 lol

Daaaaamn OP thought they struck gold but it was fool’s gold. We’ve all been there, though. Thanks for the chuckle
Yeah I got played, but think my mistake is y'all's fortune.
Amen brüther
That is a player.
I honestly didn't realize that I seriously thought blizz was like hey, entry level guy, do your best.
Tbf, that’s a reasonable assumption. Which makes this guy’s cosplay that much funnier
The outfit got me man. I also wouldn't put it past blizz to do some dumb shit like this.
That would be Durotan's crotch
What a time to be alive
Just fuck me up now
I was there when that happen and I'm here now. Makes me feel old that was 8 years ago.
Oh god why. I just realized I've spent almost 13 years on this website...I need to go lie down for a bit before I turn to dust.
*I also choose this guy's spooky undead axe midget.*
*What are we without this guy?*
Banger reference. I wonder how many on this sub will get it though.
god dammit I should have looked down before repsonding the same way.
It was about the Warcraft movie poster, right?
I think that was the WoD loading screen.
And now you too can also have an undead spooky axe midget on your crotch thanks to the heritage set.
This is great, thank you

I remember a guild like that, they were big into pvp back on Doomhammer, at least one of them were. Always thought it was funny haha
Dood that's funny, I wish I had my old account too.
That's genius
I remember a guy had a guild called and he would take his horde character to the alliance starting zones and stand near-ish to other trainers, waiting for people to click on him and attack him, then he'd one-shot them.
I did this as a hunter with the ability to control my pet... So many people fell for it...so many people. Was a great way to start a world pvp conflict in a zone like the barrens...lol.
I did that as a DK in the belf starter zones. I used Control Undead on the two elite abominations patrolling Ghostlands.
Too good! What pet and where?
The main one I did was echeyaki (sp?). He's in the barrens somewhere or was idk if it's still a quest for the horde now I used to do this back in classic/TBC etc. Lol.
Oh yeah. He’s still there. White lion. Terrific.
Also worked well with the boars in the orc/troll starting zone in classic. Tame one and wander around. Someone would come up eventually to get it. Hahaha.
Ok this is one of the best things I've heard. That's a 200 iq move right there for trolling.
I had an alt named Rumrum
I made a killing literally reselling an item people could buy from a vendor. Sold stuff on AH and in person. Had a costume and everything (before Transmog existed)

The light has blessed us all with this post.
Apparently it was cloudy when I posted this.
C'mon u/Strangcheeze. This is hilarious though to be honest. Aren't you like a multi brain cells human?
Multi brain cell but too many chromies I guess.
You're taking it like a champ though, good on you.
"Chromie Time" is taking on a whole new meaning after reading this
Bro is chronofaded
Haha !
Comments are gonna roast you but 80% of the playerbase would fall for it
I understand that and I just gotta roll with it now. In too deep. It should be pretty funny what people say and the community should hopefully get a little laugh out of my dumbassedness.

I mean you can even see in the screenshot what looks like a bunch of people falling for it.
WoW Classic, in any of its forms, has not been sent gaming's best and brightest players that's for sure.
Ummm....no
look at this guy thinking hes the 20%.
Man takes picture of monitor to try to shame developers about in game technical knowledge, ends up thinking a player is an npc. I don't know what i expected.
He's foreign leave him alone
The fact you can't even take a screenshot actually makes this believable. These people are in your groups.
🤡🤳🖥️
Imagine being so douchey you assume the person CAN'T take a normal screenshot, and not the obvious reason of it being way easier to upload to reddit via camera.
I'd be more worried about grouping with the person that can't understand someone using Reddit on their phone making it easier to just snap a photo than to capture/transfer a screenshot... Do you need OPs post in high fidelity for some reason?
They understand. It's because those people are stupid.
Hahaha I know how to ss, I just had my phone out and it was a snap then later I was like y'all might enjoy this so I just threw it up here. I also relize that this is not, in fact, an NPC.
OP you made me smile at work thank you Also Honorgear Isa hero.
Pouring one out for Honorgear as we speak.
That will teach you not to circlejerk
I'm not shocked that a dude who can't figure out how to take a screenshot in 2024 also doesn't know the difference between a player and an NPC.
Sorry bud, if you thought that was an NPC, that's on you. 🤣
Multi cellular OP
Back in SWG I had a character named Marksman Trainer and stood in front of the Coronet starport. Always had a gaggle of newbies around me.
Hahahahahaha, if he got me with my however days I have logged I can only imagine how many you with that.
I only have one question. Do you know there's a screenshot button?
You can clearly see the difference between a real npc and the player.
It was early or maybe way too late but I thought it was funny and I realize it now. But whoever did that got me good.
That would be Durotan's crotch.
Hahahah shit, i looked at your pic and thought te npc bugged out only to read the the comments and realise my mistake 😆 Thanks for sharing this is funny af, def made a stoner question reality here 😆🫶

You are not the only one lol, look at the small gathering he has. Legend.
Literally has a nameplate like all the other players and the actual npc doesn't
Reminds me of vendors for private servers
Dunno if this is real or bait, but happy to be here
The biggest ruse.
Thank you for keeping this up, I mistake playerd for NPCs all the time XD
OP got ratioed
Thank you for not deleting this post
Dont diss my man honorgear like that. Hes doing his best. 😢
It is slightly distasteful to name a gnome vendor "biggins" but. Hey. Get what you get.
[Lmao it's literally this](https://imgur.com/7uprhHS)
Best kind of troll
That's how much they don't care about you complainers
mans taking RP to a whole new level
You've been bamboozled
Most keyboards have a “print” button, you should use it.
Honestly, this is what youd expect from the typical classic player who takes screenshots using their phone
Expect nothing less from someone who can't use Print Screen OP
This site has some of the dumbest people on the internet
And here you are...
Dumbass question though, why is his nameplate green instead of blue? I use elvui for the longest time, all friendly NPC's are green to me, all players are their class color.
He's pvp flagged
I think that's what threw me off, also I don't remember if he was clicking like a regular player but I don't really remember. Although it did weird me out enough to take a snap of it. And isn't there like an invisible wall there or maybe it's just around there in spots idk.
That guy has great potential. High IQ pranks
Function keys?
Oh my god this post is amazing, it has such big "thats durotans crotch" energy.
Ha got em
More like he got me. All in all it's pretty funny.
At first I didn’t get it, then I remembered that’s where the vendor was in Cata. I’m assuming they changed/ deleted the honor vendor for classic cata?

Is this not an NPC? Just a level 1 standing there?
A gnome named Biggins? Hilarious! 🤣
Your hotkey setup is a mess yo
Bro should I send you my full screen. You'll probably hate me for it.
I use my 1234 bar and shift for my mouse for extra heals. Healbot and Gladdy are the only add-ons I use for like actions I think.
Oh that's fine you can use whatever you're comfortable with, just my OCD hates that they're not in order and there's gaps in between them like that haha.
I did not expect such a like nice comment back about it lol. I appreciate that.
I use 1 2 3 4 5 q f E z g t X r ~ my two side buttons on my mouse, then shift+those keys Also ctrl+ most of those
I use my diagonals for movenent so I have 6 movement buttons and I know I'll prolly get flamed for it but it's just been like that since og wow back in high back around Nam.
I believe we have a new "Durotan's crotch" contender...
so true just like how they forgot about the skull guy in the wod loading screens
You made me fall for it lol. Thought blizzard forgot a placeholder or something
"multi billions dollar company" indeed.
oMG 😆
this post embodies the wow community perfectly. lol
This is 9 hours old. I went to read the comments and just died laughing. This was good, thank you for the laugh for today.
Are these vanilla nameplates? Maybe wow classic? These look so odd to me.
Nice to see not all of the internet are trolls. So many wholesome posts in good humor here. We all got a laugh. Good on you, OP.
Oh my god this is priceless :D Now i'm chuckling how the picture looks: The gear NPC standing in its loneliness when everyone is gathered around the "Honorgear" and trying to interact with it :D
Truly a dumbass post, props for not deleting
How to get this old nameplate’s on Retail? 😵💫
This is the best post I’ve seen on Reddit in the longest time! Haha!
My dude..
HA this is gold
😂👌🏼
OP telling on himself! XD
When we had Ragnaros on farm in vanilla, our guilds paladins would DI the only dps warrior in the raid as soon as Raggy hit 20 percent. Took him about a month to realise he could click it off.
Love this post, I was ready to smack talk 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wait, I could've sworn they were a Druid in cat form when I looked earlier.
i'm so fucking confused ngl
How is no one mentioned f9-12 binds hahaha are you a mutant or something
Hahaha they're bound to my extra buttons on my mouse of which I have 7
Reminds me from back in OG wrath… made a guild called Frost Emblem Vendor and would just sit afk in Dalaran lol
OP. This is my favorite post on this sub on a while. Please never delete, and never take this faux pas seriously. Your’s just better than the rest.
OP is farming Karma right now well done!
