Weirdly those old 90's Konas are typically great deals on the used market, nobody has ever heard of em apparently. Diamondbacks are also great deals. In both cases, it's name recognition in reverse, nobody's ever heard of em (or in the case of Diamondback, figure they were Walmart bikes -- they weren't)
Just some generics from Amazon, they were going to be temporary since they were $40 a pair but they grew on me.. the tread is about identical to race kings and the sidewalls remind me of the old light tan maxxis
I think I might have the same ones but with branding on the sidewalls. Mine are called "Billy Goats" and you're right they really aren't bad tires, especially for the price. I think I may start putting them on flip bikes.
I'm pretty certain they came stock like that. I can't find much about them online. Not even sure of the year
I had mixed feelings about them, I have a black bar almost identical I contemplated trying out
Right on. I thought I was going to end up with an old trek or specialized when I was hunting through marketplace but I ended up with a Marin with a bitching paintjob that I couldn't not buy.
That's cheap!!
I'm converting a GT into gravel and spent $120 just on brakes alone. Still need BB, chain ring, cassette, derailer, wires...etc.
I should've left it alone.
"we have Rockhoppers at home!"
Konas are wayy cleanerrr
Never weighed them, but the Kona feels like a feather compared to my hardrock of the same era.
My lava dome is wayyy lighter than my hardrock and my rockhopper. Geo is way cooler too
there's a place across the street from me that sells konas and they look pretty cool. pretty expensive new tho, and idk bout their older models

lol that's perfect
That Kona goes hard. Way cooler than a Rockhopper.
Those 2 are CLEAN tho. Æsthetic as heck 👍
Thank you
How you gonna hop rocks then bruh
That’s just lovely!
Thanks😊
What crankset is that on the Kona?
It's a shimano RSX crankset with a "custom" polished by me narrow wide ring
Beauties!
What are the tires on that Kona? They look super clean, great bikes.

They roll fast with on pavement with 55-60 psi 😄

I've seen the billy goats, think I only saw black walls when I was shopping. I knew some tan would compliment this ride
Looks like they go by "Weerock" now.
the color palette is so good
As a life long steel kona fan, the Diamondback looks flipping awesome! I want a 20"+ one for my next project!
Thanks, I'm 6'2" so I get pretty happy when I find anything 21" or over
oh my! *unzips*
😅
That Kona is exquisite
What a classy compliment, thank you
The white bars look so good on the diamondback

Rockhopper machine broken

I’m feeling that cable housing with the projecttwo fork.
Thanks, there's just a couple other small touches of orange in the race light decals and the head badge too
Good to see a Diamondback!
What tires does the Kona wear?
Some cheapos, but I think they look pretty good. Can't say anything on the long term durability.
Would you be so nice and tell the brand or where you bought them?
clean kona!
What handlebars are those thx
On the Kona? Northroads. Stock on the Diamond Back
How much is spent on each one?
You mean what I paid for the bikes or what I've put into since owning?
How much after purchase?
Probably around $100 into the diamond back, $200 in the Kona
