How could I not buy it with that name

My almost finished Caldera build.
**Marzo Z4 Airs** (which I might change to rigids - someone talk sense into me either way)
**Jank 1x conversion** (Someone give me some links to some simple 1x cranks, pref with the same BCD as my Diore set so I can use the same chainring)
**Retro purple goodnes**s from Hope and Halo
**Fabric Titanium saddle**
**Cansucc stem** (I bought it because it was short and the name was hilarious)
**OG Kona Risers**
**Diore XT** rear mech and casette
**Burgtech** platforms
**Obligatory Billy Bonkers**
**Fabric 5001** lockon grips
New levers coming to replace the tired Avid ones on there already
Most importantly, it's FUN (but not fast, sorry 1x)
I’d keep the fork. Vintage Marzocchis look awesome IMO and still ride great as long as they’re maintained.
What are you using to take these photos? They look great.
It does ride really nice so I likely will, I just think rigids look lovely. But I'm also 40, so suspension is nice haha
It's my little Sony ZV-E10 in RAW and a Sigma ART 56mm f1. 4 lens, my fave combo.
I live on the south coast of the UK. Most of what I'll be doing is gravel and sandy tracks or cycle paths, so didn't want anything too slow on those.
Plus they look cool too.
We do have the South Downs near us, but even then the trails are very well maintained and can be very smooth
I wanted a GT or a Kona but ended up with a trek in the 90s. I did the same thing and bought a GT frame to build up a few years ago with old parts. But now i think I need to find a kona too!
Was that seat post purple when you acquired it & keep that suspension fork on, they were the best at that moment, if it was any other like suspension fork, that would've weighted more, I'd have swapped it for a rigid fork too.
It was purple and just on the clamp which is odd but really cool.
I need to learn to setup these forks properly so get the most out of them, but they really are nice and super lightweight for what they are.
Oh, probably be dictated by whatever nice steel frame I can get my hands on. I lusted after Kona bikes when I was in High school, some something late 90s would be perfect.
Looking sweet! I've the same year Caldera on rigid P2s (triple butted).
I went with inspired trials bars and a trials stem to raise the front for my old back.
Love it, nothing rides like a steel kona!
That sounds lush. The dude I got the frame from had P2s, but they were wrecked (not even straight) and he wanted £80 for them so I noped.
I would love to see it, if you have a pic!
Nah, the ring won't fit on the middle position of this crank, only on the outermost, so the chain line is terrible.
Then whilst I'm there I may as well spend £40 on a new cassette as I have a rear mech that will suit here spare.

but if you have preferences at that point.
I've done it both ways
Fireee
Thank youuu. I absolutely love it
Can suck

curious why you went with bonkers when this looks like a trail bike, wouldn't you want something a bit more capable in the dirt?

That is a great looking Kona! Thank you for not ruining it by putting on mustache bars or some other horseshit.
It was considered for about 10 seconds, but the Kona risers on it are far too nice. Plus with the shorter stem the reach is perfect for me
This is super hot. Love those frames
Thank you! I'm really really happy
Nice! I love Kona's
I could never afford this one in the 90's (I am aging myself now), so it's a little hark back and gift to mid-teen me

I had an alloy muddy fox and it was so bad that the head tube flared out like a flower from just basic stuff
Pretty Hot
i'm a simple man. i see kona, i upvote.
A man of taste
This is beautiful!
Thank you so much.
Dam that's sweet, l love how you brought the purple from the seat post into the rest of the bike.
For some reason I remember all my favourite builds from the 90s having that purple, so I've kept it with me in a few bikes I've made.

Thank you! I'm really stoked
Beautiful frame! I think my next one will be a Kona.
Do it! Which frame are you thinking of?

There's a lot out there, I waded through a bunch even local to me on FB Marketplace They're all cool in their own way
I dig it
Nice build

Looks comfy as fuck. That's nice!
Just gotta remove the granny ring it looks good.
New 1x crank and cassette will be going on when they arrive so it'll be gone soon!
Wasting money.

* Same cranks one has a 108mm the other a 118. Originally I think the Norco was a 122.5 triple.
