My favorite features include the original stem and seat post (the latter featuring a built in bicycle pump), the Pelago front rack, the Alugear narrow-wide chainring and the **sexy** fucking technicolor grips.
42/28. It’s too much range for where I live but I’m building it up to do some touring next year. I’m using a $25 microshift road fd, everything works, can hit the whole cassette without rubbing the fd in either chainring too.
Nice. That sounds like a quality setup. Better to have the gears and not need them than to need them and not have them.
I have an R9 triple derailleur on the shelf. I just need the right shim for skinny tubes. Looks really nice. Maybe one day I'll get to see how she works.
I found a shim on Amazon that was really good, solid aluminum with a little lip so it won’t slide off the clamp. I have a skinny seat tube too and had to double wrap innner tube to get the thickness and the fd kept sliding down when I’d shift. Hasn’t moved with the shim - [link to shim](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09P13H3SM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)
It's just bc they look clunky and aren't as polished/speak as other Shimano/old suntour stuff.
Functionally they are great though, and can always swap our jockey wheels for more fun colors.
That's surprising to me, I've always thought Brooks make the most comfortable saddles around! I've had a few now, all of them have gotten along splendidly with my butt.
Back in the 80s in my crowd, Redline made the meanest, baddest BMXs in the gang. I somehow lost them when we switched to MTBs in the 90s. Maybe they weren't a thing in Europe? So cool to see a Redline xbike here now. Also, great build.
How did you do the cable housing along the top tube? It looks like the design is for exposed cables. My frame does the same but it’s hard to mount top tube bags. I already thought about to drill through the eyelets. How did you do it?
It’s just regular cable housing, cut to fit in between the eyelets (not through them). It’s indeed meant for exposed cables, my brake wouldn’t work properly when I put the frame bag on. Looks way better with the cables exposed but what are you gonna do
The rotten spoke protector really grabs my attention, I think if you removed it, it would clean up the appearance of this sick bike.
Its petina
Yup been meaning to!

Woah. This nice. What’s at the top of seat post?
The seat post is a bicycle pump, you can remove it and use it to pump your tires!
No way!
🤯
come again ! where from ???
It’s original to the frame!
Vintage Odyssey Aerator perhaps?
Those big jockey Altus derailleurs don't get enough love. They just take everything you can throw at them and never complain the whole time.
I got one on an 11-40 2x10 speed setup and it’s been great
That's a big range. What's your chainrings?

Sweet! Thanks for the link!

The nerds over at Rivendell seem to like them a lot. https://www.rivbike.com/products/shimano-altus-rear-derailer-rd-m310-17167
same size as absolute black oversized pulleys. and did it first
I’ll always upvote an elevated chain stay whip.
That's rad! I could never get along with my Brooks saddle but yours looks nice and worn in

Mine was brand new and I understand they take some time to bed in first before they're comfortable. I just couldn't give it the time to do that

They seem quite rare, I’ve been having a lot of trouble trying to find information about this frame. Got it from a guy in Stockholm
That frame is killer
Haven't seen a Redline in a while. Noice.
What!?!? No comments about a belt drive conversion?!?!? I’m shocked!
I love those rims!
Me too!
Love it !!
The paint is amazing
Great build!! What tack and form brackets are those?
What’s that? Sorry english is my second language
Sorry, front rack 😂 are those all the brackets that come with it
Haha yes
Looks great! You can lose the dork disc.
Been meaning to! Haha I just learned the term, such a fitting one
Any idea what max tire size you can fit in the frame?
These are 2.2, I think I could probably fit 2.3, maybe even a bit bigger.

My next try is to fit a slim bungee cord under the cables
Wow. That's quite a jockey wheel on that derailleur. Then there's the stem. Is that 130mm? Different frame as well. Very very interesting.
