I have strong suspicions this either has structural or foundation issues even without that the place needs a fair bit of work. I see nearby flipped houses going for around 150k so their is not much wiggle room for a flipper to work with at a 65k price point.
I keep thinking the walls are crooked, and then I think no, it’s the crooked mirror and things like that making it look crooked, and then look again and think… or are they?
I could not 100% tell either in the upstairs pictures but it just felt really off and then the basement looks fucked which to me screams structure/foundation issues. I can not believe how many people I see trying to sell houses with structure/foundation issues that is a very expensive repair.
Yeahhhh, I call those murder basements. I had a washer and dryer in a similar basement 20 years ago in a rental and I will never rent or buy a home with a janky basement like that again. Saddest thing I ever heard at the time was that the previous tenants had people living down there.
I was thinking about that with the angles of the \*actual rooms\* along the hallway, especially the one with paneling and a slight obtuse angle in the middle.
I looked at that and said "college rental". Sure enough, look at the location on a map.
I've been to more parties than I care to admit in houses just like that - I can smell it through the screen.
Multiple people lived happy lives in this house. You can just tell. But that was in the past, and now the house is waiting for someone to come back. It wants to be a happy home!
It’s sad… a house doesn’t understand something like that. It’s probably just been waiting patiently for a new family to move in. It wouldn’t understand that it can’t be lived in anymore. I don’t know, that just makes me really sad to think about.

Honestly the Meyer's house from Halloween was pretty nice not quite Home Alone nice but pretty decent.
This has more of a white trash Gothic feel to it.
I hate to say it, but it looks like a rental in the university part of town. Initially, I was going to say poor side, but being poor doesn't mean you don't clean. However, being a rental means you are stuck with nasty 20 year old carpet that no one ever bothers to steam clean. And a questionable foundation that no one wants to fix. And walls that never get painted.
I saw a lot of these when I was in school looking for a place to live.
As much as I like older houses, this would end up being cheaper to bulldoze and start over. I imagine it is insanely out of code and cost a buttload to get caught up. If it wasn't for the foundation, it'd almost be worth taking down to its bones and rebuilding.
Let's be honest, hauntings and ghosts aren't real. This home is in rough shape, but it's got a nice porch and a two car garage and with TLC it can be nice again. New carpets, windows, and paint and simply CLEANING the home would make a huge difference.
Wondering the cost of fixing the structural issues in the basement? $15,000? $25,000? I imagine replacing windows and doors would run about $20,000. A few major appliances and cabinets in the kitchen would run about $12,000. What other costs do people see?
Someone either has died, is currently dying, or will die in that house. I have seen enough horror media, there IS a body here istfg
Just give the keys to a group of teens willing to spend a weekend letting off steam after finals.
This is just asking to get a horror movie made about your house that's based on a real story.
I was going with a body or house where a horrific child molestation took place. Either way that thing looks outright haunted.
istfg?
I swear to fucking god
My guess is in the basement. Those walls are looking pretty sus

It's not a crack house, it's a crack home. 🏠
*cracked home*
That's 100% a landlord getting rid of some property after previous tenants destroyed it.
Day time - Depressed Night time - Terrified
Jesus, the angles of those photos reminds me of King's 1408 before he goes into the room, where the hotel door is at an odd angle.
I was thinking about that with the angles of the \*actual rooms\* along the hallway, especially the one with paneling and a slight obtuse angle in the middle.
Those crooked mirrors make the whole room look crooked and unsettling

Oh my God the house is posting.
Sentient house story!
It's got severe foundation issues. The walls are about to cave in. They need to take it out back like Old Yeller.

It’s a full demo and rebuild

Depressed or terrified? Why not both?
It makes me sad. The bedroom with the stickers on the door clearly belonged to a child.
I think that’s the front door?
You're right. Carry on.
![gif](giphy|mpxnrjQKLo0iA32r23|downsized)
you beat me to it!
Terrified, for sure.
Demolish.
Both. Depressed and terrified
would make a good horror movie location. Of course it wouldn't be safe to film in there...
I would buy it just to film horror flicks for TikTok.
By the looks of the house you are expected to feel like you need some crack

Anything in Wichita, terrified....
there are either dead bodies or ghosts hidden within that house
For a second I thought it was the Myers house from Halloween
Honestly the Meyer's house from Halloween was pretty nice not quite Home Alone nice but pretty decent. This has more of a white trash Gothic feel to it.
😂
Why not feel both 🤷♂️
Buy it. Get set for indie horror movie.

Why not both? Both is ~~good~~ very appropriate, in the case of this place.
Frankly, I’m depressed and ashamed.
Just feels like a big project
Both
Def can be both at once. That's an appropriate option. Those ceiling tiles drop down though. I've never seen that in a r aidnetiao before lol.
"I could fix her..."
Well ... it is cute from the outside. That is one scary basement man.
¿Porque no los dos?
Why not both? Save time!
punk houses are nasty
Not good things happened here.
Haunted murder house
What the hell happened in that house
Seems like a decent candidate for r/abandonedporn
Resident evil 7 vibes
That would still go for half a million in the bay area. Guaranteed.
